Lovely local to town

The location was great for walking into Brixham town. The living space very light. Tiered terrace was a bit of a pain but that's the gardens in Brixham town.

Double bed was like sleeping on granite. So hard. Would benefit a mattress topper. Loo downstairs.

It had a lovely layout, was spotless and they have thought of everything with layout, decoration & guest information. The beds were really comfortable and the scones, jam & cream were delicious. Everything you needed was provided.

Very clean, comfortable and welcoming - ideal for our 2 night stay and would be excellent for longer. Everything provided.

Good break

Spacious and very clean with everything you needed (tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cooking oil, salt & pepper, bathroom towels and even a dog bed with blankets and towel for dogs, to name a few). The scones, jam and clotted cream were a very nice welcome gift (thank you) and a pint of milk in the fridge was also a nice touch. Location was ok (bit of a climb when going back after a day walking around as the property is on a slope). Buses (No. 12 especially) runs frequently and can be caught at the bottom of the road.

Bathroom and separate toilet were downstairs (which was annoying when you needed to get up during the night). The bathroom could do with an extraction fan when showering rather than having to open the window (just my opinion). Bedrooms were a lovely size. After reading other reviews, I was looking forward to a comfortable bed, but the double bed was very hard and uncomfortable and creaked like crazy when turning over or getting out of bed. On the other side of the coin, my son said that his bed was way too soft. In the kitchen, there was only one frying pan, so if cooking a full English breakfast, everything had to be cooked together (could do with just one more pan).

Lovely clean and comfy holiday house with a seaside feel

We loved everything about this holiday house! It’s beautifully decorated with a lovely beach vibe. There was a very thoughtful welcome package left with a cream tea - thank you! Our kids absolutely loved the little beach details around the house. We immediately felt like we were on holiday. The kitchen is very well stocked and we found absolutely everything we needed. The seating area was comfortable and cozy. We also thought the beds were very comfortable too. We were there during very warm weather and we were very pleased to find fans available in the bedrooms. Brixham it’s a lovely little seaside village. There is plenty going on, lots of lovely restaurants and we found we could walk into town which was a pleasant surprise. It’s quite hilly, but we expected that in Devon. We had a really relaxed holiday and would love to return to Port Side again. Thank you for having us!

Incredibly clean, great location and a very well equipped kitchen. We stayed during an extremely hot period and it was fantastic that both bedrooms had a standing fan in each - it was very much needed. The neighbours (Gary) were also very welcoming and had some good local tips.

A lot of thought and effort has obviously gone into making this a real high quality home-from-home. Everything thought of, with fascinating adornments too. Lovely sun-filled patio area and cream teas awaited us! Little shop just behind the garden and a Sainsbury's mini shop just down the road. Twenty to thirty min walk into centre but No12 bus every 12 mins at busiest times,from bottom of road. Quite a hill home from bottom of road to house but great for walking-off those holiday meals!

There’s no “step free” access, but this is Brixham - the whole town runs along a steep hill, so it’s not unexpected.

Fabulous

Fabulous accommodation, everything you could possibly need and more. Helen and Bruce have thought of everything, we had cream tea waiting for us, and lots of information leaflets of places to go. I would highly recommend this property. Brixham harbour has lots of great pubs and places to eat. You can walk (quite steep in places) or short drive to many beautiful beaches and coastal pathways. A gorgeous part of the country, we will definitely return.

Pleasant

The location was spot on. Every need had been catered for and I was very impressed. The facilities were all beautifully maintained.

The only down sides to the break were beyond the remit of Bruce and Helen I'm afraid. The weather was pretty grim but there you go. Also my partner and I split up so I left early.

Beautiful prepared and very comfortably accommodating property with very friendly and helpful hosts.

Extremely clean and welcoming and everything to ensure all our needs catered for. Dogs very well catered for too. Home from home feeling. Bed very comfortable. Absolutely loved the wood burner, just what was needed after a wet and cold day out.

Excellent short stay, plenty to do even in February!

The location is excellent, we walked into Brixham, caught a bus from the end of the road to Torquay, drove to Blackpool Sands and Salcombe. There was all the equipment you needed, bedrooms were large and bright.! Parking was easy. Cooking your own meals was easy, we had an issue with the hob, Bruce was there in minutes to help us!

The steps from where you park the car to the front door or side path could be improved. I did check on the website that there weren’t any areas dogs weren’t allowed, it was a surprise to see the stair gate to stop dogs going into the bedroom!
