Moulin de Merzé

Beautifully renovated farmhouse in the middle of the countryside. Convenient parking. A few minutes drive from Cluny. Very well equipped kitchen.

Nothing. Just a mention that our room had no washing machine (unlike what was indicated in the description).

The setting and location of this property are simply incredible! My absolute favourite town in Bourgogne is Cluny so it was a treat to be 5mins away! I also love Cormatin so it was also amazing to be 8mins drive! My apartment, Rouge Gorge (located on the 1st floor) was very well appointed and super comfortable! I stayed with my mother and we each had our own space and we used the lovely private terrace a lot! We stayed whilst a heatwave was going on and the flat was surprisingly cool! Mosquito nets have been installed so we could leave the windows open at night! Marianne, the hostess, was very attentive. She was kind enough to gift us some of her homemade apricot jam - which was delicious! And went extremely well with the best croissants of the region (from Polisson, you are welcome!) All in it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay again!

The owners live right next to the flat. And the spare key was used.

What a delightful surprise as from the images I’d thought there were quite a number of rental properties however, there were just two semi-detached properties to rent. Snuggled against the owners beautiful large property there was just a one bedroom and a two bedroom apartment. We were in the one bedroom. Both were set in beautiful grounds in a rural setting but with very easy access to the main road into lovely Cluny which is a 5 minute drive or a track if you wish to walk or cycle. Our accommodation was clean a good size with a fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable. The lovely bonus was a private patio overlooking a mill stream pool. It was also on one level which was great as we had our dog with us. Marianne the owner was a great host spending time explaining the area and providing a map encircled with all the places she recommended. The area is wonderful with so many beautiful villages and small towns. Marianne”s husband Peter advised my husband on fishing locations. We left feeling it was somewhere we would love to revisit.
