Elevators are out of sorts. No idea how they are programmed. Not a big deal, only occurred in the mornings when everyone was going to breakfast. Had to wait 10-15 minutes. Two separate buttons for two sets of elevators, so we pushed them both. Weird.

A Gateway to Auckland

The location is excellent, providing a central point from which one can explore the city and access the ferries to the Hauraki Gulf Islands. And the breakfast is ample and diverse.

Central location, staff and late restaurants within walking by make this a great choice.

Location is good. There is restaurants open late at night within walking distance late at night if needed. Staff are welcoming too. It is a hilly area so be mindful of walking with bags to and from destination. (Google maps mentions this). There are many one way roads in this area.

Only thing we didn’t like as 2 friends sharing a room was the see through, only partially frosted glass doors of the bathroom. Not great for shower privacy particularly when the light is on

The breakfast selection was great, but would love a more varied option for guests that stay a while as some of the food gets tiring after a while. Beds were nice and I liked the AC and the view we got was nice as well.

The first couple of days our room wasn't made up up until 4-5pm onwards which was annoying as we wanted to come back and rest, but we had to leave again as we noted the cleaning staff were just making the rooms up on the floor we stayed on at that time. We were also not a big of the bathroom door as it was really annoying regarding the water flowing out to the toilet area.

If I had known what the bedrooms were like I would not have booked. I expected a desk.

The hotel is in a great location but does not really provide for people who are working. I only had a small table in my room rather than a desk. I suggest they supply rooms with desks for working guests.

Comfortable stay

Location was very conducive. Right in Auckland CBD where everything is accessible. Room I had was large and spacious, bed was very comfortable allowing us to rest well.

The room that was initially given to was not the room type that we booked. But they were able to change it right away when we brought it to the attention of the front desk. But we had to lounge our heavy luggage by ourselves when we changed rooms which was very inconvenient. Breakfast also doesn't seem to change. It's the same breakfast menu they served during the entire duration of our stay. This was also the exact same breakfast menu served the entire duration during the last time we stayed in 2023.

everything was amazing! the only issue was the Chromecast wasn't working on our TV. the friendly staff asked if we wanted to change rooms, but we were already settled in our room and didn't really need the Chromecast, so no stress. :)
