Johnson Cottage

Cute cottage with views of Lake Michigan from front walkway. Loved being able to watch the sunset every night. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms made for plenty of space for our family of 4 during our stay. Great kitchen, dining area, living, room, and sun porch. Private beach down a short walk was lovely. Very comfortable and cozy accommodation for our week at the lake.

Plumbing (septic system?) needs addressed. Both toilets and showers backed up on our 2nd of 5 nights so my husband had to use a plunger to clear whatever was causing the blockage. No issues after that. The couch in the living room was covered in dog hair which we didn't realize until after sitting on the couch. Several large stains were on the living room carpet. Dead insects were also laying along several baseboards and in window wells. A bit more attention to housekeeping would help this place retain its otherwise charming and welcoming feel.

All beds old and uncomfortable furniture very old and outdated leaks and a must run dehumidifier at all times.

Nice neighborhood. Ample space , lovely porch.

The property needs some updating. Carpet was dirty, but the rest looked clean. There is “stuff” everywhere stacked around and in front of the fireplace. No usable pots and pans. No hair dryer. FYI, the master bath toilet is hooked up to the hot water line. A problem with the coded entry lock. We had to get a key.
