El Méxicano offers excellent service and numerous amenities at a great value and is well located to supermarkets and restaurants in Playa del Carmen. Communication with Dewl (Do everything with love) was excellent; any issues were resolved immediately.
I will definitely stay there again and can recommend this place to any traveler who doesn’t want to stay in hotels.
The studio where I stayed was very small, with little room to store luggage, though that wasn’t really a problem for me. Unfortunately, the mattress was far too soft. Even though I am petite, I kept sinking into a hollow, which caused me back pain.
What bothered me every time I stayed at one of their accommodations was the sheer number of messages (via booking.com, SMS and WhatsApp) regarding check-out. A single message with check-out instructions the evening before check-out would have been perfectly sufficient.

Everything great. Good A/C, comfortable pillows, close to supermarket, good WiFi, walk to central locations not bad, rooftop very chill. Would stay again!
Welcome bottle of water was tiny! After travelling for hours, small things go far. Clothes hangers rusty.

Roof top was ok.
The place was very dingy. Bedding pillows and towels old and worn. Windows were very dirty and door lock was faulty so it shut behind you and locked you out. Pool area so small only 3 chairs and no loungers or room for any. Pool is between the 2 buildings so no sun really.
