Casa do Avô José Alves

Excellent welcome. Armanda picked us up at the airport at 11:45 pm. When we arrived at the house, she had prepared a delicious meal for us. Every morning she brings breakfast in a basket at whatever time you like. It's actually more than breakfast: there's enough left over for a picnic lunch. One evening she also brought us homemade soup and a dessert, which of course she had made herself. The accommodation is very comfortable, practical and spotlessly clean. The setting is quiet and beautiful, and you feel at home right away. Armanda took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. She is a warm, welcoming person who loves what she does and, above all, loves making her guests happy. A big thank you to her!

Fabulous, warm welcome upon arrival, very personal tour of the home and it's history. Very clean, lots of antique furnishings, all in great shape. Daily basket of a feast for breakfast, with special attention to dietary needs. Armanda was always available to help in any way, with a smile and good humour. We felt spoiled, treated as royalty. The 4 of us certainly felt that our full week stay was a great experience. Highly recommended. Thank you so much Armanda!

Nothing. It was perfect!

Adorei tudo!! A casa é linda! Confortável, perto da praia e numa aldeia com campos à volta.Tem tudo que é necessário. E a forma como fomos recebidos! Foi excelente. A d. Armanda recebeu-nos com um "jantar" tardio, preparou-nos uns pequenos-almoços dignos da realeza, sempre de acordo com os nossos gostos. Ela tem um autentico museu e muita história naquela casa.

Não houve nada que não gostasse.

Armanda was an exceptional host. An incredible welcome, followed up by delicious breakfast each morning and plenty of tips on restaurants, places to visit and grocery stores. A beautiful family home lovingly modernized with plenty of old world charm. Situated on a property with many fruit trees in the garden and modern conveniences in the apartment.

You definitely need a car, although there are places in walking distance to eat.
