Serenity by the Sea in La Valvega, La Cala de Mijas

The house was beautifully clean and very well equipped, modern, stylish, and comfortable. The host was extremely friendly and easy to communicate with, always available whenever we needed anything. The property is located in a modern, secure complex with spotless swimming pools. All the amenities were perfect, and we’ll remember our stay with great fondness. Highly recommended!

High quality furnishings throughout the property. The rooftop plunge pool was a nice bonus. Having a garden area with close proximity to a swimming pool is an excellent feature. The whole property and complex is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Difficult to find any negative points to this property.

Fantastic property, large and spacious over 4 floors! Had all the mod-cons you could ever need. We had a great time and the kids loved it.

What we liked: The property is an excellent size for a family of four and is laid out over four levels. Having the garage underneath is a real bonus, keeping the car shaded and providing direct access into the property. The private plunge pool was lovely once cleaned and was actually a little cooler than the communal pools, which was very welcome in the heat. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of plates, glasses and utensils, along with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and American-style fridge freezer. A few chipped plates and glasses should be replaced, but overall everything you need is provided. The master bedroom has a nice en-suite bathroom and its own private balcony. At the rear of the property there’s a large outdoor seating area overlooking the communal pools, complete with a gas barbecue, making it a great space for relaxing and eating outside.

We had a great two-week holiday here and the property itself is spacious, well-equipped and in a fantastic location. However, there are a few areas that would really improve the guest experience. What could be improved: On arrival we weren’t shown around the property or given any information. A guest information folder would make a huge difference, covering things such as: ● Wi-Fi details. ● Bin collection and waste disposal. ● Emergency contact numbers. ● How to use the property and check-out procedures. Some of the TV/air conditioning remote controls also had flat batteries, which made things more difficult. The biggest disappointment was the air conditioning. It appears to be controlled remotely rather than by guests. Each morning we woke up to temperatures of around 28°C indoors, and in the living room the air conditioning switched off at approximately 10:20am and couldn’t be turned back on regardless of the settings. The spare bedroom also had no independent control. Guests are encouraged to keep the blackout blinds closed throughout the day to help keep the property cool, but that means missing out on the lovely views, which rather defeats the purpose of staying somewhere like this. We also felt that for a two-week stay there should have been a mid-stay change of towels and bed linen. While there is a washing machine and tumble dryer, we’ve always received fresh linen after one week in similar holiday villas around the world and don’t expect to be doing laundry while on holiday. The main communal pool could also do with more regular cleaning. Swimming with goggles revealed clumps of hair, grit and small stones on the bottom. Finally, although check-out is by 10:00am, the cleaners arrived at 8:00am, and there were no instructions explaining where to leave the keys or what the departure process was.
