Ancient Olympia, mangata-home

Casa molto bella in una posizione magnifica, si trova in piena campagna ai margini di un borgo di poche case. Intorno (di fronte) solo un altra casa con un bellissimo e curatissimo orto/giardino, abitata da una coppia di persone educate e discrete. La terrazza è vivibile ad ogni ora, almeno nel periodo in cui abbiamo soggiornato noi (prima metà di giugno) Nel piccolo borgo non ci sono negozi, i più vicini a qualche chilometro, in compenso troverete una taverna molto semplice ma con cibo buono e prezzi onestissimi. Souvlaki tra i migliori mangiati in tanti anni di vacanze greche.

Alcune piccole cose potrebbero essere migliorate, ma nel complesso esperienza molto positiva. Manca ad esempio qualche sdraio sulla terrazza. Wi Fi da migliorare, funziona un po’ a singhiozzo, ma forse si tratta di un problema dell’intera zona. Anche il traffico dati dei telefoni ha più o meno gli stessi problemi.

We recently spent around 14 days at Mangata Home in Raches, Ilia, and our experience was simply exceptional. Raches is a charming little village in the Ilia region, and the property is located right on the edge of the village, offering privacy, peace, and a large, beautifully maintained garden. The booking process through Booking.com was seamless. The hosts, Konstantinos and Iliana, manage the property remotely from abroad, and they do it with impressive efficiency. Communication was excellent both via chat and by phone when needed. We collected the keys from a lockbox, which was very convenient and straightforward. We stayed in the lower-level apartment, which comfortably accommodates four people. Everything was in pristine condition — from the spotless interior to the thoughtfully maintained surroundings. The kitchen was brand new, fully equipped for cooking, and the air conditioning units were modern, quiet, and highly effective. Insect screens were fitted perfectly to keep the indoors free from unwanted guests, which made our stay even more comfortable. The property provided the perfect base for exploring Ilia. We visited wonderful places, including Ancient Olympia, and enjoyed walks in the beautiful surrounding nature. Even on days when the temperature reached 45°C, the apartment remained pleasantly cool. We loved cooking our own meals, relaxing in the garden, and appreciating the abundance of insects and wildlife around — it felt like an authentic part of summer in the Greek countryside. Although our room didn’t have the very best view compared to some others, it didn’t matter at all — everything else more than made up for it. The responsiveness and care from the hosts were outstanding, ensuring that any request was met promptly. Overall, we left with only positive impressions and warm memories.

One improvement could be adding discreet solar-powered lighting in the gazebo, as well as some soft, ambient lights around the property’s perimeter, so guests can comfortably enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces in the evening.

Είναι η δεύτερη φορά που επισκέπτομαι το χώρο. Το μέρος είναι υπέροχο, καθαρό, ήσυχο με υπέροχη θέα. Το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα.

Quiet, safe, clean, beautiful, and very nicely maintained property. We loved the large balcony. We had breakfast and watched sunset there every day. Each 2 bedroom apartment has 2 bathrooms which is essential for a family of four. Very spacious apartments. Wish we could stay longer. The host was also very friendly. This place is close to beaches and good tavernas in nearby villages. I highly recommend this property.
