Unfortunately, the towels were clean but muff. So stains your body with unpleasant smell.

Great location and comfortable but flawed accommodation.
Location, location, location. Fabulous for a reasonable priced trip to Chablis. The location was central and parking in Place St Martin was free and convenient. In all fairness the room was very comfortable and well-appointed. The price was very reasonable. There was no interaction with our hosts when we got there, but the messages beforehand were good, clear and helpful. The place wasn’t perfect, but we honestly had a great time and would return, address some of the issues and it would be a perfect place to stay.
Somethings were a little confusing. We expected to bring bedding and we had….. so no worries. The bedding on the bed appeared to have been used before. There were hairs in the bed and it looked slept in. Generally the place was clean, but certainly not spotless. If the place requires you to take bedding, then give an empty bed, not a soiled one. If the sheets were supposed to be clean, then they were not. Access to the property requires a certain degree of bravery and athleticism. The steps up from the pavement below are challenging, especially if you’re carrying luggage/bedding etc. the stairs up to the room are very old. Not in an ancient, original and quaint kind of way; more of a rotten, moving and somebody is going to injure themselves kind of way. I’m all for preserving old buildings, but this is mentioned in many of the reviews and I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to make them much better and safer.

Read reviews on this place very carefully.
We did not meet the owner, which seems to have been one of the reasons for so many positive reviews - I can think of no other explanation. Once we gained access to our room, having negotiated the unfinished and unsafe entrance and stairway, we were shocked at the state of the bed. The quilt cover looked shabby at first glance, but it was when we turned the quilt down, that we discovered the full horror of the stains and hairs. It was clear that the bedding had not been washed. This was totally unacceptable to us. There was also a large clump of hair, dust and debris under the bed. We immediately decided to find other accommodation, as we could not countenance staying in such an unclean establishment. We felt there was no point in contacting the owner, as he already had our money, and, from reading other negative reviews, it didn't seem likely he would return it. Also, we felt there was nothing he could do to rectify the situation - change the bedclothes, perhaps? Not acceptable to us when check-in time was already a late 6pm. Also, we had no confidence that any other bedclothes would be cleaner. We just wanted to get out of there. Overall, the place was not ready for guests, with unfinished, poorly-finished, or partly-finished, fittings and décor throughout. It needs to be professionally finished. One reviewer stated that she laughed when she saw the establishment's front door - I didn't laugh. We couldn't believe that someone could present a place for people to stay in such an unsatisfactory condition. It was the bedding, however, that was the final straw for us. I still cannot believe that someone could attempt to rent out a room with dirty bedclothes. There are a number of very negative reviews on this place, which accord exactly with our experience. Unfortunately, prior to our stay, we had only read the inexplicable, very generous and forgiving positive reviews. We will be more careful in our research for suitable accommodation in future.

Great location, very central but off from main street so not too loud! Fantastic host!

Neat stay!
Good location, easy to park, owners were responsive!
Nothing much to eat around the area on a Sunday, not the property’s fault.
6.0 / 10.0
Simple economic base to explore the Chablis region.
Clean and value for money.
Difficult stairs - particularly for older guests or those with lots of luggage (such as on an international holiday).

A fantastic visit to an idyllic village and a marvellous place to stay to be a part of it!
Right in the middle of an iconic wine-making village and close to the free car park, but on a quiet street so nice and peaceful yet close to all amenities. The best balance between unspoiled beauty and modern conveniences and luxuries! The host is extremely friendly and welcoming, the room was extremely clean, modernly decorated (wonderful shower room ensuite) and equipped whilst retaining it's original rustic features such as the staircase and roof beams, adding to the ambiance of the property. There was also ample space in the communal dining area, that we and the other guests had also utilised to store our bicycles overnight.
As alluded to in the strengths above, the property is only an extremely short walk from the car park. The street is very narrow also, hence it may not be ideal for visitors with mobility issues as there are also a couple of steep steps to the door as well as stairs to the bedrooms once inside. Also, the space within the property is used excellently, but it isn't possible not to hear the other guests moving around, which may not suit guests who require silence.
