About this cottage rental
Welcome to our Stunning 4 Season WATERFRONT COTTAGE (sleeps 8). We also have an additional one bedroom loft apartment (sleeps 6) located above our garage. When the cottage is rented, we do not rent the apartment out to separate guests. Our private setting is ideal for long term as well as weekly rentals and is perfect for multi-family bookings!!!
You’ll love all that mother nature has to offer on our 3+ acre property lined with birch, oak, maple and evergreen trees! The great rooms 18 foot vaulted ceiling along with a full kitchen is an entertainers dream. The view of the Lake from the cottage great room can be yours to enjoy during any season! Enjoy the stunning views of the lake while you watch the sun rise and set from the private dock, flagstone patio and two decks. French doors off the great room lead to the upper level deck featuring a screened in gazebo with exceptional views of the Lake.
Our cottage is ideal for entertaining your family and friends. In the evenings you’ll enjoy sitting fireside on the flagstone patio roasting marshmallows beneath a blanket of stars.
The public boat launch is less than 5 minutes away. Bring your boat and park it here at your own private dock!

The open concept spacious cottage sleeps 8 (1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed, 1 Twin Bed and 2 double pull outs), 1.5 bathrooms. Full kitchen includes fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker! Washer and Dryer located in main cottage!!
Apartment Features:
Additional accommodations are available for rent. The apartment is only steps away from the main cottage and is ideal for an additional family to enjoy! The apartment sleeps up to 6 (1 Queen bed, 1 double sized bed and 1 double pull out futon). The Kitchen is equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker. The cozy apartment also features a balcony overlooking the property as well as the lake, and is an additional rental. The apartment is equipped with a full bathroom and kitchen!
We also offer Wifi and high speed internet for those who need to stay in touch with family and friends or continue to work remotely!
We have two fishing kayaks available for your paddling pleasure, a 12 foot lake mat and a 6 person hot tub!!!
Just outside of Port Loring, Jacks Lake is part of a five lake-chain, offering 5 miles of boating, fishing, swimming and exploring. Ideal for ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling with the OFSC trails very close by. Monthly and weekly rentals are also available year round for both the cottage and/or apartment.

Bed linens including sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, facecloths, dish towels, laundry soap, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, toilet paper, paper towels. We supply mattress pads.
Cottage Rules:
Please No smoking or vaping indoors in the cottage or apartment, no pets, no more than 14 guests on property (8 in main cottage, 6 in apartment). Abide by all local campfire restrictions. Please leave cottage clean and tidy. Remove all garbage and recycling items upon departure. Please NO Pets due to family pet allergies, no exceptions.
Rental Fees
Cottage booking and fees processed through VRBO.
Apartment booking requests managed through owners, and fees will be added to your booking.
Apartment Rental Fee: $175 per/night, plus $100 cleaning fee per booking for the cottage and $70 cleaning fee per booking for the apartment.
Refundable Damage Deposit: $500 refunded within 24 hrs after checkout.

Our stay was enjoyable and very relaxing. Great views from the house and hot tub. Hosts are extremely responsive. I would recommend the cabin, but not for a winter stay due to the temperature control issues we had. Spring/summer/fall would likely be great here.Highlights:The hot tub was great. The kitchen was fully equipped. The driveway was well-maintained quickly after a snow storm. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, even though our stay coincided with the Christmas holiday.General Notes:To provide a complete picture, there were a few minor challenges we encountered:Climate Control: When outside temperatures dropped below -10C, the house's heating system struggled to maintain a consistent interior temperature of 20C (68F). Overnight the house would drop by 2C/3C(depending on the outside temp), so the house was cold in the mornings. The heat distribution was uneven. The room near the propane heater would be 20C, but the dinning area would only be 15C. It took the entirety of our stay for the house to balance in temperature.Cleanliness: While the house comes with a fully stocked kitchen, not a single dish was clean. The dishes either had hardened food or were sticky.The rest of the house and hot tub were clean. Trash: Guests are required to dispose of trash at the land fill near by. This is a minor inconvenience that could become a large one. The landfill is only open 2 days/wk. Neither of which aligned with our last day, so we had to go elsewhere.

We had a great vacation! The cottage met all of our needs with all the comforts of home. The nice, large, well stocked kitchen was a really nice bonus. An awesome view of the lake and good fishing right off the dock. Preben and Christina are wonderful hosts who genuinely care their guests enjoy their stay. We vacation in the area every year and this was our favourite cottage rental thus far. We are hoping to come back to this great spot next year. Thanks for an enjoyable holiday.
