Cozy country cottage in horse country ,private 1 hour toNYC

We were coming into Norwalk CT for a family event, this place was way better than any hotel room we could’ve found! Surrounded by nature, nearby small towns and villages, about 25 min to where we needed to be in Norwalk. Peaceful, quaint, cozy, very dog friendly.

Cozy cottage. Small shopping center very close by has any essentials. Hosts very welcoming. Pet friendly with hints for local dog walking and pet care resources. Could use a comfortable chair for relaxing.

Lovely muffins, fruit, coffee, cream/milk provided for breakfast, which was a treat. Futon has sunk into a hole, so don’t plan on sleeping there or sitting to watch tv as there’s no back rest. It’s private with a big grassy yard, which our dog enjoyed.

This was our 3rd time staying in this home. It is always clean and nicely appointed. Host has always been friendly and helpful. However, during this stay, the home lost power intermittently throughout the evening and overnight. Although the host responded when we reported this, ultimately we were instructed to turn off a wall heating unit that was apparently drawing too much electricity and causing these episodes of no power. The temperature was below freezing outside and without this heat source, it made for a very uncomfortable overnight. The host was apologetic throughout our initial correspondences but never followed up the next morning upon our departure. We never received a follow up text the next morning to acknowledge or “smooth over” the unfortunate situation that we experienced. As a repeat customer, who had always gotten top reviews from her in the past, it seems that she would have cared more for our well being and would want to ensure our business going forward.
