This luxury vacation home on Round Lake in Hayward, WI sleeps 3-4 families comfortably with amazing lake views. Sorry, NO pets are allowed. The home has over 5,000 sq ft with 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. This property is meant for year-round vacationers with heat and air conditioning throughout. There is a gas fireplace on the main floor, so don’t forget about winter getaways, especially your group for the Birkie! One of our most exciting features is a wraparound deck with a fully enclosed screened porch to enjoy spectacular sunsets. The bonus space above the garage has an additional area for guests to enjoy with a toy area and Nintendo Wii U gaming system for the kids.
The basement is meant for entertaining! There is a large lounge area with big screen TV, as well as a kitchen and bar area with an additional TV. And don’t worry, you won’t be disconnected either. There is high speed Starlink satellite Wi-Fi throughout the property for everyone to use. For those rainy summer days we have plenty to do inside including a commercial grade air hockey table, 4-player arcade machine and Shelti foosball table. Check out our pictures to see all the toys!
For spring, summer and fall renters you can walk right out the basement slider to a large, smokeless firepit with 8 chairs provided. There is a propane grill with gas for your outdoor BBQ! And when you are done, enjoy an outdoor game with our custom printed bean bag boards while you lounge by the fire. Or go down the stairs to enjoy the lake, where there is a large dock space with a splash pad, kayaks and a paddleboard for use. Please note items in the above paragraph are not available in the months of Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March, or April. Dock availability is no earlier than May and depends on the ice melting off the lake.
The cabin is located on the main body of Round Lake with sweeping views of the lake. We are located just minutes from local restaurants Powell’s on Round Lake, The Dock and Tamarack Farms BBQ, pizza and winery. The town of Hayward is only 10 minutes away to enjoy shopping, go karts, mini golf and of course the candy shop!
You can bring your own boat or pontoon to the property and there is ample parking room for a trailer. There is a boat/pontoon lift that will accommodate any pontoon and most boats as well. We require use of the lift overnight and during inclement weather to avoid damage to the dock or boats as well as property of our neighbors. If you are looking for rentals, we recommend contacting Round Lake Marina or Hayward Power Sports to help with pontoon or boat rentals for your visit. If you are interested in renting something for your stay, we recommend calling these places right away as they book fast!
For the summer months of mid-June, July and August, check-in will be on Friday with check-out the following Friday, with 7-night stay required. Off season stays will be a 2-3 night minimum.

We love this house! Works perfect for our family of 18. Plenty of space. Space over the garage works perfect for Grandma and Grandpa to have their own space. The lake is one of our favorites ever. We spend all day at one of the sand bars. Depth at the end of the pier is perfect to jump off of. Plenty of fridge space with the basement fridge and bar cooler. Screened in porch is the highlight of the house. Comfy beds. Bonus, TJ is awesome and easy to work with!

Our family has been coming up to the northern woods for the past 35 years. We enjoy renting houses on different lakes. SandalWood and Round Lake are by far the best! We would love to stay there again!

The property was absolutely excellent and its description was very accurate.Plenty of space for our family of 19 to spread out and enjoy all it offered.The lower level game room was great fun and the toys for little kids in the above-the-garage space was a nice surprise.Having firewood available to enjoy the excellent fire pit was also very nice.Communication with ownership was top notch.Really, our only complaint is our family loves to cook nice meals when together and, while there were plenty of plates, glasses and flatware; food prep utensils were lacking. Things like sharp knives, measuring spoons and cups were not up to par. We actually went to Walmart and bought a grater, peeler, and sharp knife. Not a big deal (see the 5 star rating), but it would have been nice. Also suggest you stock the lower level kitchen.We would definitely stay here again!

Our family of 12 had a wonderful week (1st week of Aug '22) at the Sandalwood Retreat. The home is just beautiful (better than pics). Plenty of room for our group. Sleeping arrangements are plentiful. The family room for gathering is massive. We were most impressed with the screened in porch that spans the entire back of the home facing the lake (my favorite part of the house).
A small amount of steps down to the dock and you're off to enjoy Round Lake. We partied on a few different sandbars and enjoyed Powell's on Sunday for live music and some craziness. Decent sized fish were caught during the week ranging from panfish to a 30'' pike. The lake is clear and easy to navigate (large enough to not get bored). Proximity to Hayward is a bonus (groceries, golf, supper clubs, pizza, go-carts).
We rented our pontoon from the local marina which was convenient and efficient. A few trips back to the marina to fill up on gas sure beats hauling down gas cans to the pier. The small neighborhood where the home is located has sparsely traveled roads that made for good morning runs/walks.
We've been traveling to Northern Wisconsin as a group for 14 years and have only revisited the same home once. We were so impressed with this home/lake that we booked for next year already. You can't go wrong with this rental. The owner and manager were great to work with and responsive if needed.
