About this house rental
Welcome to Blue Heron Lake Home, located on Lake Wausau. Perfect location for both winter and summer fun! In winter; snowshoe or snowmobile right from the backyard! In summer; boat & kayak around the lake!
This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath ranch style home located on Lake Wausau in Schofield is just minutes from downtown Wausau and the Granite Peak Ski Hill. This home can accommodate up to 10 people making it perfect for a family or group of friends. Three bedrooms upstairs can sleep a total of 8 people - one king size bed, one queen size bed, and two sets of twin bunk beds. Upstairs living area has large south-facing windows, letting in lots of sunshine and warmth in the Winter afternoons. The 2-car heated garage is also great in Winter! There is room for 2 additional cars in the driveway.
Lower level of the home is set up for entertaining! Xbox One, Playstation 4, ROM-based Atari and Sega Genesis with all of your old school classics available on two 50" Smart TVs. Foosball table! Board games, puzzles, video games and lending library all included! Large wet bar with full size refrigerator, wine cooler, kegerator, and it's own 50" Smart TV. Large dining area with table that can seat 6 right next to the bar. The adjoining lower level living room has a wood burning fireplace and 75" Smart TV for cozy nights indoors. Lower level couch is a sofa sleeper that can accommodate two additional guests, for a total of 10!
Yoga and a session in the lower-level sauna are the perfect way to start the day.
Heading outside, there is a large deck off the main level overlooking the lake - perfect for sipping coffee in the mornings. The large lower level patio has a table and chairs and a gas grill for outdoor dining. Go down a few stairs and you'll find a large brick patio and fireplace just feet from the lakeshore! Have a boat? No worries, tie up to one of two private docks! Great for fishing too! Included with rental is use of two kayaks and two canoes to go explore the lake. (Please note: Due to low water flow in the area, swimming is not advisable due to weeds, but there is a perfect swimming beach at the park one block away)
Blazing fast Wi-Fi included along with Netflix included on all Smart TV's.
Lockbox for 24-hour check-in available.
Kitchen is fully stocked for all cooking needs including a pizza maker, blender, pots & pans, Crock-Pot, air fryer, Insta-Pot, Waffle maker, Kuerig, 12-cup coffee maker and French press.
Washer and Dryer available for use as well as an iron and ironing board.
Linens, shampoos and soaps are all included.

This house was perfect for a weekend away. I stayed there with some friends after a race and we loved it! The sauna was wonderful and the house was clean and well taken care of. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Plenty of room to relax inside or outside.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful home! The owners were incredibly thoughtful & accommodating! They went above & beyond for us during our stay! The home is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and they have so many amenities! It’s the perfect place on the lake! Highly recommend!!!

The overall scheduling and check-in was smooth. Upon arrival we noticed lots of garbage left from the previous guests. We also noticed the patio door downstairs never locked and we had to use a bar to secure it which I didn't feel secure at all. The master bed was very uncomfortable and caused severe back pain. We also had an issue of ants. Night 1 the ants were all over the lower level and bar. We notfied the owner and they were out that same day and she said it was from the previous guest. After rain the 3rd night the ants were much worse. I notified the owner again and some of my family left early because of this. There is also a huge gap in the flooring I would stub my toe on and injured myself. There is no immediate fix so I didn't notify the owner as you can see they were updating the floors but left a 1 inch gap in a high traffic area. After day 1 we noticed our socks were black from the floors even tho it was just cleaned. The toilet downstairs isn't secure and rocks as you attempt to stand up. The hot tub was good but not hot only luke warm. As I said room for improvement. Fishing was fun and the location was good.
