DOR Villas

Property was exactly as described, a great modern, beautiful villa with small but lovely details thought about. Absolutely stunning and there were fresh cookies on our table when we arrived. Restaurant attached is pricey but fantastic. I have rated this 5 stars and it deserves it but a couple of things which would improve: Breakfast is lovely and included and it’s served in your room however there is no menu so you just have to make it up and proactively remember to give your order to someone the night before There is an orange juicer in the villa and oranges (on the first day) however no cutlery to cut them. A lovely idea though There are teas and coffees however no milk, sugar or spoons There is no air con The hot tub wasn’t turned on and we had to ask twice for it to be and then had to wait for it to warm up. It would have been nice for this to be turned on for when we arrived. Boone made up our rooms, bought fresh towels or cleared away all the breakfast food and plates which wasn’t pleasant although if we would’ve asked I’m sure they would have. Like I say pointing these out for improvement but would 100% recommendation this beautiful accommodation.

Heads Up – Double Booking ExperienceI originally booked DOR because it was close to Bran Castle and offered exactly what we wanted — a spacious living room, a full kitchen, and a hot tub in each bedroom. Unfortunately, we never got to stay there. After several unanswered messages through the platform asking for check-in details, I eventually called the owner directly. He explained that the property had been double-booked and shouldn’t have been listed on VRBO at all.To his credit, he was kind and offered an alternative location. Since we had an event to attend that evening, we didn’t have time to search for another rental, so we accepted. The replacement property, however, was nowhere near the same level. It might be great for a family, but it wasn’t ideal for two couples — the walls were paper-thin, the living room and kitchen were very small, and while there was a lovely porch and outdoor area, it was too chilly and we didn’t get to enjoy it.He did graciously comp us a meal at his restaurant, which was excellent, but it didn’t make up for losing the original booking we’d been looking forward to. Overall, a disappointing situation handled politely, but still not what we reserved or expected.
