SECURITY: We do have TWO Ring Doorbell security camera at rear & front entrance to cabin. It is not monitored and serves as security for when we are away and to verifying when people check-in. There are NO cameras inside the cabin, at dock, lakeside or on exterior where outdoor shower are located.

SNEAKERS / HIKING BOOTS: Be sure to bring your sneakers / hiking boots. There are a few stairs to get into cabin with a great view of the water. But, if you want to explore the property and access the dock, you will need shoes. There are two fire pit areas, one on the backside of the cabin with a picnic table that is easy access from rear of cabin and is level. The fire pit area near lake with the 6 teal/grey chairs is a rocky slight slope to get to. To access the dock, you will need to walk down a graded slope to the top of the big dock stairs. That all said, we have seen plenty of people with flip flops and even shoeless (OUCH!) around and they are ok. But, why do that to yourself?

BRING: OFF Personal Insect Repellent, we are in a cabin in the middle of the woods on a lake.

BRING YOUR: ATVs, Boats, Dirt Bikes, Mountain Bikes, 4 Wheelers, Jet Skis and so much more! There is PLENTY of room for trailers from towing and cars!

This is more than just your typical rental at the lake, take advantage of the privacy, explore, spread out, camp out or stay up all night by a fire.

We had a great time at this cabin. We found it to be extremely relaxing and just what we needed before our crazy back to school/sports schedule. We did a lot of fishing off the dock, cruising around the calm waters in the canoe, camp fires and just chilling. The location is remote and not close to many restaurants/shopping locations however we didn't mind that at all. We came prepared with all our food that we needed. Overall great place to relax and just get away.

Very nice ,quaint and quiet. Everyone enjoyed fishing and swimming. The hill was a bit rough for some. Over all would definitely love to go back.

Perfect place for a family of 16! The kids loved swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding down by the dock. The trails for hiking was a pleasant bonus.

There are a lot of pros to the "Make A Mistake" cabin, including location (gorgeous and remote), ease of check-in, ease of communication with host when isues arrise (they respond relatively quickly), privacy, kitchen suplies, and outdoor ammenities. This is the perfect rustic bunkhouse situation for a large family or chosen-family gathering if you are looking to be off the beaten path. Cons: The water heater didn't keep up with the needs of the 4 adults in the cabin-- 4 showers per day, one load of dishes. There was no hot water when I tried to bathe or rinse off my baby. We ran out of toilet tissue on day 2 and had to run 40 mins to town to get some as there was a delay in the host's supply delivery (to their credit, the host is not responsible for the delivery delay). We also had a wasp infestation in the main bedroom. We counted at least 8 wasps in the corner of the room, which were dicovered when they stung our 15 month old daughter while she was napping. When we contacted the host about our concerns, they asked if we saw a nest and claimed no one else had mentioned wasp problems. This was the only situation where the host was not helpful at all. We understand things happen, especially in cabins, yes/and if things happen while you visit it's best to keep expectations in check. Be prepared to be self-sufficient.
