Well, we had an tsunami evacuation in the midst of our trip! Of course, this was in no way the resort's fault. However, we didn't appreciate that we were left "on our own" in terms of how to leave (not all guests had rental cars), how to get food, or where to go. Also, when the evacualtion order was downgraded to an advisory, we came back to find our room keys no longer worked and the resort front desk let us know not to reach out to them in case we ended up needing help. Later I heard the Hyatt moved all their guests to upper floors and provided a banquet dinner, so no one had to leave or figure out food on their own. Not sure why the Mariott didn't do something similar.Other than that, everything was amazing.

We really loved this resort. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The beach was lovely. We enjoyed snorkeling, looking at the tide pools, swimming, and watching the sea turtles hang out on the beach in the next cove over.
Parking is underground, which is great because your car doesn’t get so hot.
Just as an FYI, the “ocean view” rooms don’t necessarily have an ocean view. I wouldn’t pay extra for that.
