My wife and I had a very relaxing, two-week, 4th of July vacation at Summerfell Cottage. We enjoyed morning walks, the beach, a wild horse tour and sampling several local restaurants. Most of all, we loved the saltwater pool. The water was clean, refreshing and just the right temperature so we spent many of our days just relaxing and reading by the pool. I found a copy of David McCullough’s ‘1776’ in the downstairs library area which was an appropriate read for our Nation’s 250th birthday. The house included everything we needed with a very comfortable king-sized bed, well-stocked kitchen, great air conditioning and nice outdoor spaces. The folks at Coast n Currents were responsive, friendly and easy to deal with as well. Thumbs up on Summerfell Cottage.

This property was perfect for our small family group. Room accommodations are decent. Beach access is close and convenient. The back yard impressed me the most honestly. The small pool entertained the kids and the lawn was perfect for our dog! Would recommend!

Overall an average beach house that was efficient for our family vacation to the OBX. However, there were multiple things that if fixed would’ve given this house a higher rating. The house wasn’t fully cleaned upon our arrival with dog hair, cobwebs, dog poop in the yard, and sand in the house. The ice maker in the freezer didn’t work all week. Also this listing makes it seem that the room with the sleeper sofa is in the basement, but it is a detached room down at the pool level that has minimal function. Also the second bedroom has a full size mattress not queen size bed as advertised. The realtor company did react fast to our initial complaints to try and remedy the problems as fast as possible.
