11 Cartgate is a wonderful vacation rental located in Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island, SC. It has 3 bedrooms/2.5 baths and is on the 11-mile lagoon system, which is perfect for kayaking and watching nature.
When entering the home straight in front of you is the main living area with light gray hardwood floors, high ceilings, and access to the screened-in porch. There is a grey sofa with matching loveseat and two accent chairs offering plenty of seating. There is also a fireplace and a mounted 65” Samsung TV with sound bar. The beautiful pool and lagoon views greet you from the floor to ceiling large windows. There are two doors off the living room; the first door opens to a screened-in Carolina room with a ceiling fan, couch, and two chairs. The second door opens to the outdoor deck where there is a table that seats six, two lounge chairs, built-in bench seating around the deck, a Char-Broil grill, and the refreshing pool. The back deck goes the length of the house and has stairs leading down to the pool area that overlooks the lagoon. Guests will love the privacy the yard provides with the lush tropical landscaping all around. You have the pool and a private dock on the lagoon, a perfect place for a quiet escape. Owners recently added a bulkhead to the dock on the lagoon, great for kayaking!
Back inside to the right of the living room is the formal dining area with a table that seats eight. Continuing through the house you also have a half bathroom and laundry room with washer & dryer on the main level. The kitchen, overlooking the pool and back deck, features granite countertops, blue cabinets, built-in cook top and double ovens. There is also an eat-in area with wooden table that seats six, as well as seating for two at the kitchen bar. You also have access to the back deck from here.
When you enter the home to the left are two of the bedrooms. The first bedroom has 2 twin beds, a 32” TV and access to the Carolina room. It shares a bathroom with the other bedroom. The bathroom has a single vanity and tub/shower combo. The second bedroom has a queen bed and 32” TV.
Up 16 stairs to the second level, there is a loft with a queen sleeper sofa and two chairs just outside the master bedroom. The master has a king-sized bed, accent chair, and a 32” Roku TV. The large private bathroom features double granite sinks, skylight, a large walk-in closet, and a separate room with a walk-in shower and a large soaking tub with marble surround.
The home is approximately a short bike ride or a 10–12-minute walk to the beach. You will enjoy all the amenities Palmetto Dunes has to offer including the championship golf courses, bike trails, and wide-open beach. Once you stay here, we promise you will want to return year after year to have your dream vacation!

This house has the basics but nothing extra. The kitchen was very stocked but was missing various basic items and/or just needed a refresh. The beds were terrible. We swapped beds with our kids to try to get everyone comfortable so we tried our best but the two secondary bedroom beds were just so uncomfortable. This house had the basics but nothing that really made it cozy and comfortable. The communication of the company was great as we had our refrigerator break and they came out right away.

Peaceful location, 13 min walk or 4 min bike ride to the beach. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of common space to spread out. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and we loved spending time in the screened in porch. The only opportunity for improvement is the kitchen; the refrigerator is small and there weren’t some tools I would have expected (wine opener, can opener). Overall I would recommend this beautiful property, my family and I had a wonderful stay.

The house proximity to the beach, restaurants, and activities was great and we enjoyed our stay in Hilton Head. The inside of the house was clean but the outside decks and pool needed a lot of work. I had to call management 2x for the pool as it was very dirty and not filtering properly. We were unable to use the pool for almost 3 days. Also the back deck area could use a power wash. I found myself cleaning it daily. Overall the house was ok. Management was responsive but seemed to have trouble with the pool companies doing it’s cleaning.
