About this cottage rental
Welcome to Black Bear Cottage located in the beautiful and private community of Riverbend of Lake Lure. A truly relaxing and peaceful retreat, our cottage is nestled on a wooded lot and is surrounded by nature and wildlife. Perfect for a couples getaway or relaxing with family, this cottage is a true retreat. Riverbend has our own lake with beach access along with swimming holes, hiking trails, waterfall and more. The cottage is only a 3 minute drive to all of these wonderful sights. This cozy cottage has modern updates but still holds a lot of its original rustic charm. The cottage is located 15 minutes from Lake Lure, 20 minutes to Chimney Rock State Park and Village, and 50 minutes from Biltmore House and Gardens.
The main floor features an open living space with kitchen, living and dinning area. Also on the first floor you will find one bedroom with a queen bed, full bathroom and office area. Upstairs you will find a lofted area featuring a king bed.
The outside space features covered front porch, back deck with eating area, gas & charcoal grill and fire pit.
No mater the season, Black Bear Cottage is the perfect destination!
Things to Know:
-Cottage is located on top of the mountain. Lake and walking trails 3 minute drive from home.
-Upon booking, you will be required to upload a photo of your driver's license.
-No pets, no exceptions.
-We do not refund due to weather, storms or road conditions; we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance.
-The maximum number of people allowed in the cottage is 4, including children of all ages.
-Smoking and vaping are prohibited on this property-this includes outdoor spaces.
-We have installed an outdoor camera for security purposes.

We're a young family of four with a love for the great outdoors. When we are at our home in SC, you will find us at the beach. While at Black Bear Cottage you will find us swimming in the lake, hiking on trails or just sitting by the water with a fishing pole in hand. It was a dream of ours to purchase a home in Lake Lure and we are excited to share our home with you. Many family memories have been made here and we hope you are able to do the same. We hope that your stay is full of peace and serenity and that you leave feeling refreshed.

Trust me they thought of everything! If you want a nice quiet get-a-way in the Blue Ridge mountains - this is the place to stay. I have a feeling we’ll be back.

The cottage was exactly as listed. Neat and clean. No frills but very nice. The hosts were extremely responsive and had even left personalized coffee cups for us. Nice souvenir to remember our trip.. The property and home are nicely secluded even though in a gated community. We did not get to enjoy the amenities, although there were many. We visited the area for the fall foliage and drove to nearby towns like Chimney Rock and Hendersonville, and did several hikes. All easy access, Home was the perfect base station for our quick Fall getaway. Beds were confortable. Kitchen nicely stocked. Can’t wait to visit in Summer for some time on the lake. Home is perfect for a couple or a small family. Large loft upstairs and one bath downstairs.

This house had it all for us: there were the soaps, paper towels, linens, bath towels, and even seasonings, oils, teas to keep us comfy. The accommodations were comfortable and well kept. The decor was lovely! We LOVED all the games they had. My 6yo loved exploring all the games and the 16mo old slept very well in the office (in a Pack and Play we brought). The only thing I'd caution others about, if it's important to you: there are no shades or curtains or blinds in the King suite upstairs (no bedroom door either), there are no window coverings in the office and there's a windowed-door in the Queen room downstairs without window coverings. This really only impacted the baby who napped during the day hours. But for folks who can sleep past 6am, be prepared for beautiful sunlight to stream in. We'll be back!

Great location, peaceful, cabin has everything you would need… cosy, not too big, not too smalll. We had a great stay, will be back again
