About this cabin rental
Welcome to the Log Cabin Lake House! This was a family home for many years, and we are excited to share all the home and the area has to offer. This modern yet traditional log home has all you need to feel just right in the Northwoods. It is located on Nelson Lake, about five miles from downtown Hayward, and well situated for you to enjoy all the area has to offer. The location is ideal, being close to shopping, as well as close to hiking, skiing and biking trails, as well as snowmobiling and ATV trails.
Layout:
This 3 level home has all you need for a comfortable get away. Each floor has a view of the lake. The spacious main floor has two bedrooms, one full bath, and an open concept kitchen, dining room, living room. There is also a laundry room on this floor. Off the main floor is a screen porch, and access to a large deck. The loft has the master suite and a full bathroom. Outside the master suite is an open office area, play/craft area, and a futon.
The lower level has a bedroom, full bathroom and family room.
The outside area provides lake access with a small beach area. There is a large 50 foot dock that is shared with another party. You have use of the dock with room for two boats. Two single kayaks and one double kayak is available for your use. You can fish off the dock or fish the 2500 acres of Nelson Lake. There is a large fire pit with fire wood available for your use that is near the lakeshore and is a great gathering spot for day time or evening get togethers. It is a wonderful spot for star gazing or making s'mores.
We have a small sandy beach area next to our dock on our property. This is great for younger kids. There is a gradual slope to about 5-6 feet of water. Another option for swimming is to go out to a public beach area about 1/2 mile from our dock. This beach has a large sandy area with a gradual slope. It is ideal for family swimming. You can easily park your boat or pontoon on the sandy beach.
The property shares a driveway and parking area with another party. The parking area provides space for you for at least three vehicles and a trailer, with additional space available on an adjacent lot.
The property managers are next door and are normally available for any questions or concerns.
NOTE: We only rent full weeks, Friday to Friday during June, July and August. Check in is Friday afternoon, check out is Friday morning.

Perfect cabin for our family vacation. Well stocked kitchen and home in general. Very clean. We really enjoyed our stay, the place was beautiful and the hosts extremely helpful!

We can’t say enough about this log home. There was plenty of room for our family of 10 to spread out. The kitchen was very well equipped and the island was great for many buffet type dinners! Everyone had a seat at the table for sit down dinners as well. What was very nice is that each level of this home had a full bathroom so our 3 families had their own. The deck was large and nicely shaded for our little ones to run around with a gate that was locked for safety. The beach was a big hit with the grandkids! Our host was the best with quick answers to any questions before we arrived and during our stay! We would love to come back to this beautiful home! Thank you again to our host who made us feel very welcomed!!

My group totally enjoyed our time at the house. Place was very clean, had all we needed for our stay. The hoist was very welcoming, lake is beautiful, very relaxing. Looking forward to returning next year.
