About this house rental
Kayak Cottage is a gently sloping, lakefront property with a private covered boat dock. This cottage is nestled in the peaceful Carriage Cove subdivision right off the main channel of beautiful Lake Barkley. Our cottage is perfect for couples and families to spend quality time together. We are located approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Nashville, TN and 1/2 hour from the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened-in porch while taking in the the beautiful sunrise. Explore the natural surroundings while kayaking around the tranquil cove, with FOUR kayaks/paddles/lifejackets provided. Or, simply relax and enjoy some fishing on the boat dock. Don't forget to obtain your fishing license!
For a day of golf, two golf courses (Boots Randolph and Arrowhead) are within approximately five miles of the cottage.
Bring your own boat and launch it at a nearby public boat ramp. You may also take advantage of boat rentals available at nearby Prizer Point Marina or Lake Barkley State Park. After a day on the lake, enjoy the outdoor fire pit as the sun sets. We provide wood, starter, and skewers. Just bring your marshmallows!
Our small town of Cadiz is known for many antique shops downtown, along with other essential stores such as grocery and pharmacies.
If you prefer to be indoors, enjoy the tranquility of a gas log fireplace in the great room or downstairs master suit.
The cottage has been newly decorated, along with new linens, towels, etc. Two bedrooms (king and queen) and full bath are located on the main level with a master suite/full bath (king) and bunk room with a double bed (no door, but private with a small opening to master) located on a lower level walk out basement, where you can access a covered porch complete with a porch swings overlooking the lake. Additionally, the couch pulls out into a queen size bed. Overall, the cottage can sleep up to ten.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the luxuries of home, along with a propane gas grill on the lower porch. If you don't feel like cooking, no problem! Check out the Prizer Point Marina/Restaurant which is just 2 miles from the house. Enjoy the open floor plan of the eat-in kitchen and great room. Cable is provided along with wifi.

With regards to the pandemic, deliberate cleaning practices are being implemented. Additionally, our cottage has been disinfected through a safe two-step electrostatic spraying system (alllen.LastGerm.com), which is registered by the EPA to kill the SARS-COV-2 (virus causing COVID-19) and a variety of other germs and viruses and mold and mildew, etc. The products are FDA and NSF approved to be nontoxic to humans and animals. You can be assured that sanitation is our top priority in order to keep our guests safe.

Jeri, Your beautiful property was great for me and my brothers. The only concern was the picture in the listing. It shows yours and your neighbors house.I mistakenly placed some of my belongings on the neighbors porch. Another neighbor came over to tell us that was not the VRBO property. Everyone in the neighborhood were very nice.I would certainly recommend your place to my friends.

we had a very comfortable stay and we all enjoyed the views and the sun this past weekend. only thing thing i could think of that would have made it better would have been a couple more TVs since we had 4 kids with us and just the one tv in the leaving room was not enough. Other then this would definitely go back to this beautiful home for another weekend get away.

Clean and quiet place. Since I enjoy cooking, found adequate supplies to cook a variety of meals. The King bed on the upstairs floor was a little too soft for my liking. Not knocking it just saying it in case someone needs that type of feedback. Lake Views were nice and screened in porch was a great place to enjoy morning coffee and an end of day relaxation spot. Would definitely stay again if coming back to the area!!
