Located on Lookout Mountain near Mentone, Alabama, it’s a beautiful and safe retreat surrounded by nature, with four state parks within a 30-minute drive. The cottage is one of three tiny homes in our village—each with private amenities but shared access to the farm’s common spaces. Guests can enjoy seasonal blueberry picking (mid-June–mid-August) and the annual Blueberry Festival in July. Nearby attractions include DeSoto Falls, DeSoto State Park, and Little River Canyon National Preserve, along with Mentone’s charming shops, dining, and art. Groceries and essentials are available in Fort Payne (Walmart, Food City, Bruce’s Foodland), while Mentone Market offers local favorites, pizza, and grab-and-go items.

Hot tub access for $25.00 for 1 night stay or $50.00 for stays more than 1 night. Please indicate if you would like to add this feature to your reservation so we can prepare it before your stay.
Parking is available in the gravel driveway, which fits two small cars or one large vehicle. Additional parking is located at the front of the property for extra cars, RVs, trailers, or larger vehicles if needed.

Most cars can easily access the home and nearby areas. There is no public transportation, so bringing your own vehicle or renting one is preferred. While Uber and Lyft are available, getting a ride may not always be easy.
➤ Two other tiny homes share the property, each designed for privacy, and the entire farm or all three homes can be rented together upon request.
➤ PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS AN ACTIVE FARM. The owner lives and works on the property. Our farm dog, Maggie, is extremely friendly but may bark at cars and guests initially and then she wants to be your and your dog`s best friend. She will not harm you in any way, and if her presence ever becomes an issue, the owner is happy to keep her inside.
➤ Blueberry Season is from mid-June to late August. During this time, the blueberry bushes are open to the public for our U-pick season. The cottages are separate from the bushes, but please be aware of this if you are coming during blueberry season.
➤ During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, landscaping takes place on Thursday mornings and afternoons. This includes mowing, weed eating, and blowing around the houses.
➤ Starter kitchen and bathroom essentials are provided, but guests will need to supply disposables and restock items for the duration of their stay.
➤ Pets allowed (NO pets in the loft areas please) with $50 fee per stay. Max 2 dogs under 60 lbs (pre-approval for larger). No cats or aggressive breeds. Keep pets off furniture, clean up after them, and crate if left alone.
➤ Exceeding maximum occupancy is not permitted.
➤ No third-party bookings (must book under your own account).
➤ No parties, events, smoking, vaping, marijuana use, or open flames (candles, incense, sage).

My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of staying at the most relaxing and tranquil tiny home recently, in Mentone, AL. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. The home was very clean and comfortable. Seth & Emily, our hosts, were wonderful to work with, from start to finish. The hot tub was amazing and the facilities were perfect! We even got to load up on some of the best fresh blueberries I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this intimate and quiet property.

From the moment we arrived at Crooked Tree Cabin in the beautiful town of Mentone, Alabama, we knew we had found something truly special. This isn't just a cabin; it's a meticulously crafted sanctuary that offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort.
The cabin itself is perfect– immaculately clean, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly cozy. Every detail, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen, spoke of a host who genuinely cares about their guests' experience. We particularly loved relaxing on the spacious porch, sipping coffee in the mornings, enjoying the serene sounds of nature in the evenings, and relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine. The blueberry farm and quiet night provided a constant reminder of the peaceful escape we had found. The solar chandeliers in the trees created a perfectly magical surrounding at night so don't forget to look up!
The craft building down by Blueberry Falls was a perfect escape when my 11-year-old daughter was yearning for something to do. We watched movies, made bracelets, colored, played foosball, and played Ms. Pac-Man on an actual arcade machine.
The location is ideal for exploring Mentone and the surrounding natural beauty. We enjoyed hiking nearby trails and exploring the charming local shops. It truly felt like a home away from home, but with an added touch of magic that only a place like Crooked Tree can provide.
The peace and quiet were exactly what we needed to recharge. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, already planning our next visit. If you're looking for an unforgettable getaway in Mentone, look no further than Crooked Tree Cabin. It's a five-star experience through and through, and we highly recommend it!

This was such a worthwhile stay. We chose to stop on our way to and from Florida, and we all agree that we would love to come back sometime and spend more time here! Absolutely adorable cabin, peaceful setting with breathtaking views, and plenty to do. If you are on the fence, trust me, this place is worth it.
