Spent a week at the condo for both work and play. Close to the action of downtown Kailua-Kona but far enough for some peace and quiet. Kudos to the owner, Paul, for being very responsive and for providing everything you will need for your stay. The welcome gift was a particularly nice touch. Will definitely stay here again.

Paul’s communication with us was great leading up to the trip. During the rental I texted him a couple times but never got a reply. The unit appeared clean when we arrived. After a couple days we noticed stains in the high traffic areas of the carpet. There were a number of small lizards that stopped by during our visit, many more outside so that is probably to be expected. We had to kill a number of cockroaches in the kitchen during our visit.
The unit is on the bottom floor and there is a large hill directly next to the bedroom side of the unit so there is little to no air flow. There were 2 portable a/c units in the bedrooms but in order for them to function well they should have been hooked up to some sort of drain. They were not, so they struggled to keep the unit comfortable. There is no cellular signal in the unit so we had to rely solely on the Wi-Fi of the unit. There is a pool but when we went there, our kids were told they could not do anything more than just float quietly in the water by the full time residence that were there.
Overall we would stay in a different place next time we visited.
