About this cabin rental
You're bound to fall in love with our charming lakeside family camp surrounded by old growth pines. We're renting out our cabin on Lake Messalonskee (known to locals as Snow Pond) in Central Maine that we've loved for decades. The cabin is characterized by the 'great room' encompassing the a generous living room space and open kitchen/dining room, two bedrooms with queen beds (the main bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom) plus a loft with two twin beds (perfect for kids!), and a pull-out sofa and futon in the main room (2 full bathrooms, in total). There's a fire pit by the water, a grill on the deck, many comfy chairs to lounge in, and a screened-in tree house. Clearly the luckiest part is being right on the water. So much to do around here! We've got kayaks, tubes for the water, noodles, a water trampoline, etc. it’s a great place to swim. You'll be all set for a beautiful stay on the water, living the slow life.
The house is ideal for 2-6 people. More info on bedrooms: there are two bedrooms with queen beds, each of which comfortably sleep two people. Then there’s a loft that works for kids. If additional space is necessary, there’s a futon that folds out to be a bit larger than a twin bed, and a pull-out couch that can sleep two— but the house would feel crowded! Both the futon and the pull-out couch are in the main living area.
Towels (bath & beach), linens, and some toiletries provided. If renting in September, we can discuss the possibility of use of the wood stove in the event of chilly temps in the evening.
To be clear, this is a rustic cabin in the woods (not luxury-- but totally charming!). It is our little slice of heaven. We'd be thrilled to share it with you!

This is the perfect lake house for a summer vacation. Plenty of room inside & out, every amenity you could ask for, and a great property to enjoy the lake. Hosts are fantastic and left a welcome note & gIfts… Thank you for the wine! It’s also very close to town and shopping, including a movie theater and an ice cream stand! Highly recommend this vacation spot.

My family had a very pleasant stay at this lakeside retreat. The owner was responsive and pleasant and we had minimal issues during our stay.
The property was consistent with the description and photos - no unpleasant surprises. The owner gave very helpful directions to the property and the move-in process was easy. We enjoyed our stay and made great use of the kayaks and the dock. We particularly enjoyed exploring the lake and did some fishing both from the dock and kayaks.
The house was clean and had a full array of cooking supplies, towels, linens, etc. We quickly were able to make ourselves at home. The owner also had a helpful guidebook with suggestions for restaurants and places to visit.
The lake itself is large and beautiful. While there are plenty of other residences along the lake, it is still generally quiet and it was lovely to hear the loons calling and to see the loons swim past the house regularly.
We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to others.

Our family of 6 travelled from CA so that I could show my kids Snow Pond where I spent summers visiting my Grandparents growing up and this camp was just what we were looking for! The property owners had excellent communication and the check-in process was very smooth. The description is very accurate, this is a rustic camp for sure but fit our family perfectly. We had 2 teenage boys sleeping in the loft, it is cozy up there but they were very comfortable, there is very little railing and the ladder is steep so this wouldn't be a good fit for anyone older or young kids. The two bedrooms are decent size and having an ensuite bathroom for the primary bedroom was very nice. I would say one of the only hesitations I would have staying here again is the two queen beds were very firm and pillows were flat. There are plenty of linens, towels and blankets provided and having a washer and dryer was such a bonus for us. The kitchen is serviceable, cookware is pretty basic but worked well enough for the week. The great room feels very open, we had an extra couple for 2 nights who slept on the pullout couch and they reported it was very comfortable. Of course the best feature of the camp is the lakefront and all the amenities which made spending the days by the lake so enjoyable. One thing to note is there is no canoe, it can be seen in one of the pictures and other reviewers mentioned it but there is no canoe. Overall an awesome stay at this quintessential Maine camp!
