Where do I start?! We were able to check ourselves in very late at night, which was very convenient for us. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. Clean and minimalistic. There were an abundance of towels and washcloths in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was divine and the water stayed super hot for the duration of my showers without having to adjust the temp multiple times. The bed was extremely comfortable! I have had major spinal surgery, and most beds hurt my back, but this one was perfect! The only complaint we had was the lack of exterior lighting. Trying to find the cabin in the pitch darkness was a bit difficult. Communication with Doug was seamless and easy. He responded promptly and was super helpful. We will definitely stay here again if we visit the area in the future!

Great country getaway for us and the dogs with beautiful property to explore. Host was very helpful, flexible, and quick to communicate when we had some possible delay and difficulties on our part. The cabin had everything we needed for a simple retreat.

The owner Doug was really nice and accommodating for us! We were on our motorcycle and were able to park it in the garage attached to the cabin making everything close and comfortable! He warned me about the deep gravel to make sure I knew about it before riding through it to the garage so that I was prepared because it does make riding a little more difficult but all was well and we had a great weekend! The concert we saw at Lincoln Amphitheater was only about 10 miles away so it was a short ride coming back in the dark thankfully!

The property was just what we were looking for. Quiet, out in the country, with walking trails and a pond to fish or swim in. We brought a trailer for our ATV (we were riding at the nearby Interlake SRA just a short distance away) and there was plenty of room for our trailer while we were there.Doug was a great host, gave us some ideas on places to eat and the nearby town of Boonville, has a neat downtown block with restaurants and shops.

We stayed at this cabin for a full week and had an amazing time. It was tucked away and on a beautiful piece of property. We drove to town (15-30 min depending on where we went) for some good restaurants and sightseeing. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Mr. Doug was a great host and we had everything we needed. We wanted a quiet get away from home and the daily routines. This is the place as it was advertised. We enjoyed the inside as well as the outside. The inside had every thing we needed.The rustic furniture made it cozy. Had a great time ! The gueat house was perfect for a getaway from the hustke and bustle of life. The only drawback was the gravel road , 2 miles, you had to drive on to get to a grocery store unless you go way out . The prooerty is beautiful. The only thing id do dodferent is have an air fryer. That gives you an oven to go along with the 2 plate hot plate. We loved it and would love to go back. We saw turkeys, deer, all kinds of birds. Our rat terrier loved it too !

We so enjoyed our stay here. After 2 busy days at Holiday World, it was beyond amazing to come back to a beautiful setting and amazing guest house with so much room, super nice furnishings, and grill and firepit outside. The nice walk to the beautiful lake in the woods early morning was a great way to wake up. Doug is an amazing nice guy to talk with and planning was so easy with him. He responds to any questions and has so much ready at the house already for a great stay. I cannot say enough good things about him and the guest house!

Doug was awesome! The property had probably the best bed we have slept in. He was thoughtful and had some protectors for the couches knowing we had a couple dogs with us. It was nice and quiet out at his place though we didn't get to explore because of family obligations. My car decided to die on us and he was so kind offering help and not mad about the circumstance of essentially checking out a hour late due to having to run into town and back for a new battery. We greatly appreciate his kindness and patience as I felt absolutely awful about my car. We strive to leave properties in the same condition we come into them and leave especially on time which I felt like we failed the second part! But as I said, Doug was very understanding and even offered help and tools from his shop. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

My spouse and I really needed to get away from life/work but wanted to bring our dogs, and this was the perfect spot to disconnect. The property is beautiful and has a great trail to walk and it's only a few minutes from Lincoln State Park. Would love to go back when it's warmer weather. ☺️

We went fishing at the pond on the property, went to the town of Santa Clause, IN, and to the casino in Evansville, IN. Loved the rustic guest house - the woodwork was beautiful. A great big shout out to Doug and Liberty -- Thank you so much for your hospitality!

We rented Doug's place kinda last minute for a one night stay in the middle of an emergency cross country road trip. Doug was wonderful to communicate with, very friendly and responsive. The unit was well cared for, clean, and comfortable. The only thing I feel that is important to mention that there was a Confederate flag hung on the property. As a North Eastern Hispanic family, its presence was unsettling. We understand that the flag for some is a symbol for states rights, but for others it is a symbol of racism. The flag isn't present in the photos posted online, so I just wanted to mention it so others are not taken by surprise upon their arrival. The property host, Doug, was friendly and kind and did not behave in any negative or racist way.

I stayed 3 nights with my friend and two dogs and enjoyed the pond and acreage as well as the proximity to Lincoln State Park and the Lincoln's Boyhood Home museum. It is a beautiful setting! The grass was long around the yard, and the pond is down a hill, not directly adjacent to the cabin. Be prepared for mud if you linger at the sides of the pond - we took our kayaks and dogs down there and everyone got muddy getting in and out if you don't use the floating dock. The AC in the bedroom is noisy, so bring your earplugs and the kitchen/living room doesn't really get cooled by the AC in the bedroom and stays warm and humid. There is a firepit, charcoal grill, which had all the supplies, a 2 burner hotplate and a nice refrigerator and freezer. The kitchen is well equipped with all the tools and place settings for 4 people. Great option for an area that doesn't have many hotels for visitors and few options for travel with dogs! Two thumbs up and 8 paws up!
