About this house rental

3 level log home , Watch the Durango & Silverton train go by, look north to the needles mountains, open floor plan with large kitchen with bar seating three, dining ,living area, with large windows, and outdoor decks. Tv room, 20min. To ski area, 7mi. To town. Just off hwy550 . There are two queen beds in separate rooms. Master is on the upper loft level with the second queen on the lower level ( very private) and two bunk beds with full beds on the bases and twin uppers. One of these bunk beds has a twin trundle underneath. These two bunk bed rooms are separated by a full bathroom. Summer months offer plenty of open 10 x 42 deck space with natural gas Weber grille, patio furniture includes table that seats six, lounge area with swivel rockers and couch. Entrance to the home is from the lower parking area up the log stairs on the north side to the 8 x 44 covered porch. Winter is no problem with the in-floor heating system on all levels. Back yard is fenced for up to two medium sized dogs.

Very nice, well-appointed, clean property in a great location just 2 minutes from downtown Durango. Property owners/managers were accessible and responsive. One note to future guests is that the main bedroom (with the King bed) is a loft and therefore not entirely private. The en suite bathroom to the lofted main bedroom is also open to the communal areas on the 1st and 2nd floors by way of the bathroom walls not going all the way to the ceiling. The bathroom sounds, therefore, may travel over the walls and into the communal areas. Finally, there is a large, uncovered window in the main bathroom that provides direct views into the master shower from the neighboring property. I would highly recommend the owbers install some sort of retractable shade as the natural light is great most of the time, but a bit unnerving while trying to shower at night.

Quite possibly the best stay we have ever experienced via Vrbo. The owners and property manager were amazing, very hospitable, gave some great advice on things to see and do in the area. The cabin is beautiful- pictures do it no justice at all! We will definitely be returning in the future if this property is still available.

It is always a challenge to find a house to accommodate four generations for our annual get together. This house was perfect! Eric was very easy to communicate with both prior to our arrival and during our stay. He even let us use his children’s sleigh for our little people to ride down the hill by the house. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The location was convenient to town but it still felt like a true mountain vacation. The house is stunning and had everything we needed and more. The view from the deck is gorgeous and it was so fun to see the trains go by. Everyone in our family from Grandpa down to our littlest one loved every minute we spent here and along with our Polar Express train ride, made this Thanksgiving our most memorable and magical ever! The owner was very welcoming and easy to communicate with, and he went above and beyond to help us out.

This home is Absolutely perfect for a large group. Was out in Durango for my son’s wedding. Easily slept 10 at this house. Beds were incredibly comfy. House had so much charm. Close to downtown Durango but far enough away to have great views and quiet. The host was outstanding. Just a friendly and available guy. Highly recommend renting this house in Durango. Eric, the owner’s son, was fantastic. He even brought us apricots and zucchini during our stay. The home is reasonably priced compared to others in the area and it’s absolutely beautifully appointed with tasteful, high quality furniture, knick knacks, paintings, etc. throughout. No skimping whatsoever. Even a piano! The location is just a few minutes to downtown Durango and convenient to indoor and outdoor activities. Really cannot say enough positive things about our stay. Prior to arriving I was in contact with Eric and he responded very fast. The property is located 2 miles from the city as stated. You are only 10 minutes from almost everything. This is a well built home both inside and outside. High end finishes throughout the home. I was impressed when I entered the home. Perfect location in a quiet area close to everything. The owners live next to the property. Eric and Dwight were very nice people. The home is very well maintained. They have everything you need. We did not have to buy anything except food. Large deck in front with a great view of the mountains. If you have a dog the yard is fully fenced in. Could not ask for a better place to bring a dog. If I come back to Durango I would only stay here.

Our family of 7 adults stayed here and it coukd not have been more perfect. The accomodations, the views and the well stocked kitchen were everything we needed. We enjoyed dinner every night on the patio and played games on the big table inside. There were also many spaces for us all to enjoy down time. The owners responded immediately to any questions we had and gave advice on places to go and see. We hope we get the oppotunity to come back. One thing I will mention is if anyone in your party is elderly or has disabilities that stairs might be a problem, keep in mind this is a 3 level cabin.

My brother got some gunk on his wedding guest shirt from the iron, and the host not only brought over a new iron, but also a steamer. Great service.
