About this house rental
La Casa Rosada, the 2nd floor unit in this duplex, is not your average short-term rental! This inviting and upscale 100 year-old house is nestled in a charming and desirable historic district in San Antonio and is remarkably convenient to downtown with easy access to highways and popular local attractions. This second floor residence is quite the escape, featuring a backyard oasis with a new hot tub, dining table and string lights, an EXCEPTIONALLY well-equipped chef's kitchen, high-end furnishings, art, and a peaceful neighborhood vibe.
PLEASE NOTE that while this house is a duplex (meaning it contains two separate residences) this listing is for the TOP FLOOR residence. The bottom floor is listed as a separate short-term rental residence. HOWEVER, if you are interested in renting both top and bottom residences, because you need the space, we can provide you the link to this separate listing that includes both residences (for a total of 4 beds and 2 baths).
This lovely quaint, colorful and eclectic loft-like home has had a recent playful renovation and it is both comfortable and clean. It is close to downtown, airport, and most of the visitor attractions (Pearl, Trinity University, Zoo, Alamo, Riverwalk, etc.). There are several aspects of this home's interior that make it special. It sports original hardwood floors that have been lovingly refinished, and there is colorful artwork throughout the house. The house has a very spacious LIVING AREA, where a TV is located (with ROKU providing Live TV, NETFLIX, HBO Max, and Amazon PRIME channels). We provide plenty of games and cards for your use, as well.
There are 2 nicely furnished bedrooms: (1) MASTER BEDROOM - there is an Ethan Allen bed with luxurious custom bedding. This bed has a SLEEP NUMBER mattress (queen), which most people find incredibly comfortable and fully adjustable and has an ensuite sitting room; (2) GUEST BEDROOM - there is one wrought iron bed (queen) with upscale bedding and it sports a western theme.
The BATHROOM is vintage with refinished tub, new fixtures and plenty of towels, soaps, shampoos and other necessities for your use.
The KITCHEN is a first class chef's kitchen with plenty of new new appliances, gas stove/oven, side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker (pods provided). Most of the furnishings are from Williams Sonoma. You will also find spices and many of the kitchen basics that you will need if you chose to cook. Note that there is also an OFFICE nook with a desk with an Apple computer and printer for your use (WIFI is fast, typically >450 Mbps). The LAUNDRY ROOM is furnished with new washer and dryer and a generous amount of detergent is provided for your use; there is also an iron and board provided.
Lastly, the BACK PATIO/YARD features a shared hot tub (5 person), large dining table and festive string lights.
Enjoy the entire home including the backyard and large patio. We continue to improve the property. Just ask if you have some particular storage needs (e.g., bikes, equipment, etc.) we may be able to accommodate storage during your stay in the shed in back.

Stayed in this lovely home while attending the Final Four! We loved the quiet neighborhood and hearing the birds throughout the day. Perfect break from the crowds at our sporting event. Would not hesitate to stay here again when in San Antonio.

Great location for anyone visiting San Antonio - especially if you have kids at trinity. Convenient to some of our favorite restaurants and a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Also to note - when many places state their kitchen is stocked it’s far from it. In this case it really does have everything you need. Highly recommend.

We had a terrific time here while in San Antonio. The home is spacious and comfortable. Everything we needed was well thought out and provided for us. Great Kitchen!!!! Comfortable beds. Convenient to Grocery store (HEB) Nice places to eat out. Close to Park, Japanese Garden, Zoo and Botanical Garden. Short drive to Riverwalk. Host was accessible and welcoming.
Thanks so much. We'll definitely return and would love to stay here again!

I love the quality and comfort of the furniture at this property. Most rentals have used, mismatched, and uncomfortable furniture. Not this place! The furniture is lovely! Upon entering the front door, you have to climb stairs to get up into the 2nd floor living space/rental property. The stairs may be a challenge for those with mobility issues. I may have missed it on the rental description, but I was a bit surprised that someone lives in the lower level (first floor) of the property. Also, parking is in front of the property; however, if you want to park in the carport, the drive to the back of the property is long and narrow; therefore, we just chose to park in front of the property. The location was perfect as it was close to downtown and the Pearl Brewery restaurants. A few blocks from the property there are local restaurants; but at this time, it is under heavy construction. It will be really nice once the construction is complete. We so appreciated that Don and Karin were responsive to all our inquiries.
