A private walking trail on the mountain-side jungle property leads you through a canopy of chicle, ficus tree, and tropical flora and fauna - expect to meet monkeys, poison dart frogs, coatimundis, and other friends along the way. This retreat is just 600 meters from Playa Hermosa, allowing for easy walks to the beach for surfing and relaxation. There are also many miles of special trails for mountain biking and hiking near the beach. Was a great place and a great time. Had a little trouble finding the entrance and a slight WiFi issue when we got there but got it resolved. Was a great stay and would definitely stay here again

I loved this condo! Three wonderful bedrooms, each with ensuites, the living room huge with a New 70 inch flatscreen, the kitchen totally modern with a new fridge with an ice maker that works, and an unbelievable rooftop deck with a beautiful Jacussi that they drain and refill for each guest (the first time we actually have had a functioning private hot tub in during our many travels in Central America). If this condo was in Jaco (4 minutes away) or Manuel Antonio (45 minutes away) It would be twice the price with half the the privacy. You definitely wouldn’t be able to see the stars at night sitting in the Jacussi.
The property itself is super secure. The staff are super helpful. The concierge Isabella would come by every day, and even ask if we wanted her to pick us up something from town! The many groundskeepers keep the central courtyard immaculate.
We came here because our grandson was into surfing, and one of the best surfing spots in Costa Rica is exactly below the hotel. This may be a deterrent to some, as the waves are big, but the sunsets are beautiful with maybe 8 people there to enjoy them with you. Also, the gentle waves of Jaco are right around the corner if that is what at you want.

We stayed in this condo for about 3 weeks and it was just lovely. The unit itself is very well equipped with everything you need and everything in very good condition. We miss Having all of the outdoor spaces, our 3 kids aged 3, 6, 9 loved eating on the upstairs terrace, my husband loved working remotely from the downstairs terrace. There is even a full bathroom on the rooftop so that you can rinse after the beach or before the jacuzzi! During the weekdays we basically had the main pool to ourselves, which made it feel like a private oasis (the weekends were busier, with most units having families/friends in them, so the building and pool got more filled and louder, but we embraced the liveliness, it made the weekends feel even more fun). There is no laundry in the unit, but Isabella, who’s on-site everyday taking care of the units, offered to wash our laundry for us. The location is perfect, it’s about an 7/8 minute walk to the beach, and Hermosa beach was SO much nicer, cleaner, quieter and less rocky than Jaco beach! There are also several restaurants (pizza, sushi, a soda, empanadas etc) and a small grocery store right across the street. We would also drive into Jaco for bigger shopping trips and that was only about 5 mins away. Roger the building manager was also very responsive whenever we had questions.
P.s. Ignore any bad reviews about Hermosa Wave - all the units are either recently renovated, or are in the process of being renovated/updated and they are gorgeous!
