Great stay at Camp Balsam! Clean! Everything is clean! Couches are clean and comfy, beds are comfy, kitchens and bathrooms newly redone. Owner is attentive and generous in offering supplies. Cabinets were stocked and saved us a few store trips. It has two bedrooms, so perfect for the smaller families. We jumped in off the dock and had the use of two kayaks; perfect for a short early morning or evening kayak ride! We made a fire every night and stargazed off the dock. Central to both old forge and inlet and close to many great hikes. Really enjoyed sis&bub, Moss Lake mt bald. It was great family timeAnd owner Dan was a great host. My fav spot was the screened in porch where I could read and listen to the loons at night. Beautiful

This is a great place. Kitchen had all the necessities. It’s clean. The screen porch was a highlight. There’s an amazing view of the lake. Even if you don’t bring a boat, the dock is a fine place to swim from or just sit and relax. The owner is super helpful and he knows everything about the area. He helped us launch our boat which was certainly above and beyond. Great guy. This place gets 6/5 stars in my book. Bring some food and a book and just sitting by the lake seems like enough vacation activity. It was also a treat to watch and listen to the loons. They chat quite a bit in the middle of the night. Highly recommend this place.

There is a certain kind of peace here the kind that drifts in with the morning mist and first light through the porch screens and stays with you long after you’ve packed the car.Thank you for sharing this incredible spot. The sunrise over the lake was worth waking up for every single day. The way everything is set up stocked, arranged, cared for made it feel easy to settle in and hard to leave. We spent our time soaking in the stillness, sitting a little longer than usual, and letting the hours unfold slowly (the way they are supposed to at a place like this).Wishing you calm water, good coffee, and mornings as beautiful as the ones we’ve had here.
