About this house rental
Welcome to the Flying Marlin! This 6 BR/4 Bath gem offers a great location just 2 blocks from the beach, a game room, a private pool, a full kitchen, and room for up to 16 guests. When you reserve the Flying Marlin, you'll have the entire top floor of Port A's premier vacation property. This unit is the upper floor of the Red Marlin, a 12 BR/8 BA private resort. The beach, shopping, and convenience stores are within walking distance and you'll be less than a five-minute drive from downtown Port Aransas. It is also in the "golf cart" zone whichThis includes 6 bedrooms (2 king beds, 2 queen beds, 2 bunk rooms with 2 sets of bunk beds in each room, 4 bathrooms with showers, a spacious living/dining room, a full kitchen, two balconies (one overlooking the pool), a game/poker room, laundry facilities, a private entrance and parking for 6 vehicles (see floor plan in photos). Flying Marlin is in the Port Aransas "golf cart zone", which allows you to bring or rent a cart to drive during your trip.
Flying Marlin is only available for select dates during the year. While rentals at Flying Marlin do not include the lower level of the property, there will not be other guests on the property during your stay. Overall, it worked for what we needed. There were plenty of bedrooms.
Pros- living and dining room offer plenty of space for a large group. The hall baths were bigger than they looked in the pictures; it was close to the beach (with a golf cart) and easy to get to town on the golf cart as well. The pool and poker room were great to have the group spread out.
Cons- The kitchen was small and lacked some basics so make sure to bring anything you may need to cook (including utensils to eat). The en suite bathrooms were SO small. Like there was nowhere to put your toiletries bag or towel or clothes. Technically it’s “walking distance” to the beach, but it’s a long gross walk.
Check in was easy and loved the keypad access.

We booked the upstairs unit as there is a downstairs one also…yes we got lucky and had the whole property to ourselves but it was later in the season. You get the bonus poker room located across the porch so the late night people can do their own thing and not bother anyone which is a super cool addition we weren’t expecting. We opted for the golf carts the owner owns which makes things super easy and let me also add it’s 3 minutes to the beach and about 10 to center of town which is perfect. Pool is small but I’ve seen smaller so no complaints there because we came for the beach right? With temps alMost 100 the a/c did not disappoint and the view from the top level was nice. Overall this spot was great for my company retreat and we all had some space. Pricing was very reasonable and great communication with the owner who will come meet you in person which was very cool. Thanks for the good time and we will be back!

We stayed with extended family so the set up with rooms on both sides of the house worked well. Very short walk to the beach. Could be better stocked with utensils etc but overall very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our family gathering at the beach house. We had a very large group so we rented the entire property. It was large enough for all adult couples to have their own bedroom and bathroom. Lots of space for the kids to sleep comfortably in the bunk rooms. It was everything we had wanted for our gathering. We rented golf carts - which made the beach access a breeze. The pool is fully in the shade in the late afternoons so we could enjoy the pool after a day at the beach. The property management was quick to respond when we had one issue. I highly recommend.
