About this house rental
Villa 26 is nestled in a private, gated, jungle nature preserve, with awe inspiring views of the Pacific Ocean, the Osa Peninsula, the Three Sisters rock formations and Isla Cano from the dining room, living room, bedrooms, deck, and pool. After exploring Dominical, Uvita, Ojachal, as well as surfing, ATVing, and swimming in waterfalls, return to this oasis and let the toucans, coatimundi, frogs, and monkeys entertain you. Of note, we require that guests have a 4×4 vehicle to optimally maintain the dirt road access.
The design of Villa 26 is two master suites, which open to a terrace above the large lap pool. Adjacent to the pool is a spacious, palm leaf covered, rancho for relaxing in the chaise lounges or practicing yoga. The main living level includes a living area, Kitchen and dining room, a large deck and a third bathroom adjacent to the living are where a couch converts to the third bed with bathroom for, additional, sleeping accommodations.
Included with the rental of Villa 26 is the use of the BALLENA BEACH CLUB facility, two pools, showers, parking for visiting Playa Ballena with full Restaurant and Bar service at Restaurante Villa Leonor. The owner of this facility, Ana, manages Villa 26 and is the local host.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa 26, which far exceeded our expectations. The view from the terraces and the pool is breathtaking. Set in the heart of the rainforest, we were able to spot numerous animals (capuchin monkeys, toucans, macaws, agoutis, green-and-black poison dart frog, great curassow etc.), and howler monkeys could be heard in the distance. The house itself is equipped with all the amenities you could need. Extremely comfortable beds, spacious and modern bathrooms. The bedrooms are on the lower level and air-conditioned, each has its own access to the terrace. It takes about 13 minutes to reach the villa from the main road. The route is rocky and stony, with some steep inclines. A 4x4 is essential, and good ground clearance is highly recommended. Russ is a wonderful host who is very attentive to his guests’ well-being. Ana is the on-site property manager. She welcomed us, showed us the way to the villa and explained everything in detail once we arrived. Through Ana and her restaurant, Villa Leonor, you can access Playa Ballena – a truly breathtaking section of beach.Communication with Russ and Ana was excellent at all times. Highly recommended!

This is a genuine special place and experience. The vista shown are what we woke up to each morning. Good laundry and kitchen as well. Uvita has anything one might want. Read the advertisement a 4x4 or AWD is what it takes. The drive up is well worth it. We had four Tucana to keep us company. We are already planning to return soon.

Russ and Ana, the local contact, were both very helpful and quick with communication. The setting was beautiful and private, with gorgeous rainforest and ocean views. We really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the birds and wildlife each morning. The drive up to the villa was a rough road as described, but was part of the adventure! We loved seeing the birds and monkeys alongside the road each day. The villa was clean and had everything we needed. Two of the bathrooms are even updated since the pictures were taken, which was a lovely surprise! We had a great stay and enjoyed being off the beaten path.
