Description of the surroundings:
A key feature of the location is that you’ll find numerous hiking trails and routes starting right from the chalet, which you can explore year-round on foot, by bike, on a motorcycle or ATV, or even on horseback (the property features a secure garage as well as horse stalls). These routes take you to the Béal Pass (elevation 1,387 m) and the Chansert Pass (elevation 1,236 m), and even further for the more adventurous among you!
During the winter season, when there’s enough snow, you can enjoy cross-country skiing or snowshoeing right from the chalet.
The small ski resort of Chalmazel, located at an elevation of 1,600 m and a 20-minute drive away (be sure to bring snow chains or tire studs), offers several trails for skiing enthusiasts!
In spring and summer, there’s no shortage of outdoor activities:
- Fishing trips along the banks of the Dore (a salmon river) in the valley
- Paragliding from Job, a neighboring town
- Rock climbing in Valcivières
- Swimming, pedal boats, and canoeing at Lake Aubusson d’Auvergne
- Mountain adventure parks and tree-top adventure courses in Chalmazel and Prabouré
- In Ambert: Maison de la Fourme; Moulin Richard de Bas (Paper Museum); large playground for children
