Anglesey holiday cottage - self catering in Cemaes Bay

Details / Description

The Moorings is let by Coastal Holidays, an Anglesey based holiday letting agent. The setting of property is really quite special, offering breath-taking sea views of Cemaes Bay, the village and across to National Trust land.

Whatever time of the year this coastal property offers exceptional views of the harbour and Cemaes Bay from the kitchen, lounge, bedroom and fabulous glass balcony.

Cemaes is a small fishing village with colourful houses, shops (Post Office, pharmacy, village stores) pubs, cafes and a Doctors surgery. It is located on the north coast of Anglesey and is a good starting point for coastal walks and bird watching. There is a nature reserve a few miles away at Cemlyn which is renowned for its bird watching and Church Bay further along the coast boasts a lovely beach with bistros serving locally caught lobster and crab.

At the eastern end of the village is a broad, flat, sandy beach which offers a great venue for sunbathing, swimming and water sports.

This apartment can sleep up to 5, book with ‘The Moorings' to accommodate a group of up to 14.

Property description

Kitchen / dining area
Wide panoramic windows provide an extensive view of the sea and bay from the kitchen table. The well equipped kitchen is light and airy with an electric cooker, fridge, freezer, brand new dishwasher, microwave, toaster and washer / dryer.

Lounge
The large bright lounge with sea views is open plan onto the kitchen / dinning area. It contains one 2-seater settee, 3 armchairs (one recliner), a 32in TV equipped with Freeview, a DVD player and a Bluetooth speaker. There is an attractive fireplace with a log burning stove. A selection of games and books is available from the cabinet beneath the TV but the view from the large patio doors is so captivating that it is difficult to concentrate on anything else! A pair of binoculars are provided. The glass balcony with table and chairs offers views over the sea and beach.

Bedroom 1
The King size double bed has matching bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, dressing table and a wardrobe. The room is enhanced by the decorative original fireplace and surround, competing for attention with the views of the sea and the village.

Bedroom 2

Triple bunk bed with a double at the bottom and the top is a standard single. There is also under bed storage, bedside table and a wardrobe with shelving area.

**New mattresses on all beds for the 2019 season.**

Bathroom
The family bathroom contains a full-size bath, a shower over the bath, a toilet, a hand basin and a heated towel rail.

Entertainment
32 inch TV, DVD player, Freeview, a selection of books and binoculars to spot the local seals and birds. Beach equipment including crabbing lines, buckets and spades are available in the garden storage area.

Outside
The property has the benefit of a large garden overlooking the bay and shared with the downstairs flat.

There is off road parking for one vehicle, with additional free parking spaces only meters away next to the seawall.

Please note that property is located on the first floor, accessed via an external flight of 18 steps!

"The View" lives up to its name. It is fascinating to watch the tide and bay continuously changing. The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped. Cemaes is a good starting point for some excellent coastal walks and we spotted dolphins and grey seals. Another interesting walk was the Copper Mine Trail near Almwch.

The View is a lovely apartment, everything you could possibly want for a relaxing holiday. Great beach things provided in the shed. We were lucky to see the amazing Super Moon from the balcony, a bonus. It was nice to meet Nigel, the owner. We will return.

This apartment has it all. Stunning views from most rooms and a lovely balcony for sunny days. The apartment is really well equipped and super comfortable. An excellent log burner for cosy nights in. The location is perfect as a base for exploring this amazing part of the world. Really great communication with David and Gary at coastal cottages. Also thanks to Nigel the owner. We love this place so much, we've just booked again for March.

The view was an amazing place to stay . We were delighted with our holiday. It was even nicer than the website portrayed. The views of the bay were fantastic and the fire added to the ambience. The place was very clean and homely, lovely and warm . Would definitely recommend this to friends .

Perfect location, views of the bay. All was very good except 2 out of 4 towels had a really disgusting smell and could not be used. Not sure what caused this as they appeared to have been laundered.

We had a lovely comfortable week long stay at The View in Sept 23, as a family of 3 with a young daughter. The panoramic view of the bay is mesmerising. We’ve stayed in a few places in Cemaes Bay but this one has the best views. 18 steps up wasn’t a problem for us and the flat had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen and a good shower and bath. My daughter particularly loved the ladders over the garden wall to a ‘secret beach’. We had a great time creating memories here and hope to return next year.

I definitely recommend The Moorings, this was our first visit to Anglesey & Cemaes Bay & we will definitely be back. The Moorings - Cemaes Bay was spotless with amazing views, gorgeous beach at the bottom of the garden & the Anglesey Coastal Path on the doorstep. The flat was spotless with amazing views over the bay. The beds were super comfy & it really was home from home for the week. Cannot rate this place highly enough ☀️
