About this villa rental
Set in the countryside, Villa Azzurrato is a wonderfully stylish 3 bedroom villa, built around a traditional-style trullo. Surrounded by trees, the large swimming pool has a private and secluded feel, and the spacious terrace offers the perfect spot to relax and admire the delightful scenery. The nearby town of Ceglie Messapica is within a 10 minute drive, where you will find local restaurants, bars and a supermarket. Pool heating, WiFi and air conditioning/heating in 2 of the 3 bedrooms are included.

The town of Ceglie Messapica is only a 10 minute drive away, with its narrow paved streets and lively Piazza Plebiscito, surrounded by traditional Italian restaurants serving fresh pasta and gelato. There are also a number of bars serving delicious cocktails, and a weekly local market where you can buy fresh produce. What's more, the crystal-clear waters of Spiaggia di Villanova Beach are half an hours' drive away.
Main pool: 12 x 6 mtr, 1.1 - 1.4 mtr depth.
Pool heating is not available during July and August.

Overall, this is a beautiful villa best described by listing pros and cons:
Pros
- the pool is amazing and the outdoor space is off the charts
- the bedroom and bathroom in the annex are wonderful with great AC when you need it
- the kitchen and dining areas are nice
Cons
- the villa is not well-stocked like other VRBOs. You will have to buy pretty much everything from toilet paper & paper towel to basic kitchen needs, toiletries, etc.
- we couldn't make the stove or oven work & there were no instructions. The microwave wouldn't open & the pans in the oven were disgustingly dirty.
- the trullo part of the villa is not air conditioned and gets really hot and musty, I wouldn't sleep there
- the last road to the villa is super narrow with rock walls on either side so be super cautious with rental cars
- when booking, Villa Plus requires 100% upfront payment & there are NO refunds under any circumstances. A friend that was traveling with us was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo aggressive treatment and as a result, couldn't come on the trip. Even with 3 months notice, Villa Plus would give zero refund on compassionate grounds so we had no choice but to keep the booking and cover the entire cost for only 2 people, not impressed.
