Muses Beach Villas - Urania

Muses Beach Villas are four, independent, one-bedroom villas on the edge of sandy Kouremenos Beach. Urania is the villa in front of the beach, and an unbeatable choice for any beach-loving couple. Kouremenos beach is only a 1-minute walk away, while Chiona beach and a range of tavernas are within a 10-minute walk. Generously sized for two with a private pool, individual patio and a sea view, Urania offers a slice of beach life with all the comforts of home thrown in. The Muses Beach Villas share a driveway entrance, but each are staggered to ensure as much seclusion as possible, and nearby Kouremenos beach is rarely crowded. There are several charming tavernas within walking distance of Urania, where you can indulge in traditional cuisine and local Sitia wine. For those lazy evenings in, the nearest taverna even offers delivery service at no extra charge. The local area We first offered holidays in this part of Crete back in the 1980s and returning recently, we were a little nervous about how it might have changed. Thankfully, the beaches, villages and traditional town of Palekastro remain reassuringly unspoilt and we were welcomed by old acquaintances with the unfailing hospitality that so typifies this wonderful island. If you’ve got a passion for exploring, the rugged drama of the eastern Crete mountains and coastline is incredibly rewarding. For days out, the stunning beach of Vai is a 20-minute drive away from the villa and home to the only palm tree forest in Europe. Meanwhile, the hillside town of Sitia with its range of tavernas, ouzeries and historical sites is a 25-minute drive away.
