Outside, there is a fantastic outdoor hot tub which can be enjoyed all year round along with a barbecue area, perfect for whiling away those summer evenings.
Stalmine is located approximately 5 miles from the small market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, which has a good selection of shops, bars and cafés. Other places worth visiting along the Fylde coast include Thornton Cleveleys, with its old fashioned charm and promenade, 7 miles, Fleetwood, with its Freeport Outlet Shopping Village, 10 miles, and of course Blackpool, 9 miles, whose many attractions include the tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre and Madame Tussauds.
Apart from being accessible for the coast, Pointer Cottage is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. Ribble Valley with its pretty villages, excellent walks and abundance of country pubs is within an hour’s drive, as is the Forest of Bowland, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks are also very accessible by road and can be reached in an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 13 miles away and Preston is 19 miles. With so much to see and do in the area, Pointer Cottage really is the perfect destination for your holiday that can be enjoyed all year round.

Please note that from 8th November, construction of a new property will be taking place nearby. The work is expected to run for approximately six months. Building activity will take place Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m, and any noise or disruption is expected to be minimal, similar to the usual sounds of the working farm environment that the property is already situated in. The site will be securely fenced off so it will not be viewable, and access and parking will not be affected.

We loved our stay here, it was so peaceful and was just what was needed. The local shop and pub were a short walk and a car is required to do some exploring. Having the hot tub just outside was great and having an enclosed area for the dogs was perfect. The beds were also really comfortable! Would recommend.

Would definitely stay at Pointers cottage again & would recommend it! In general the place was really clean the only thing that let it down for me were the obvious water stains on the couch which made it look quite dirty. Would’ve also appreciated simple things such as washing up liquid and a cloth to clean our plates, looking at other reviews it is something which is mentioned regularly and can’t really understand why this hasn’t been provided when everything else in the cottage has been thought of. Location was perfect it allowed us to spend our days in Blackpool our children and then come back and relax. Hot tub was huge, it was however locked at 37 degrees which wasn’t a problem for us as we had the kids in with us so it had to be a lower temperature but would’ve been nice to face the option to put it hotter once they went to bed as it did feel quite cold sometimes. Everything else was great for us, a huge space in the front room, very modern, TV with Netflix etc provided, lots of space.Despite a few minor complaints it’s still a 5/5 for us & we will be back! Thank you!
