About this apartment rental
A great, cozy apartment to stay in when visiting Guatemala! Close enough to Antigua to explore, yet far enough away to relax and unwind! A convenience mall is just a few minutes away.
You can rest or work in comfort since the area is safe and quiet; you can also walk around and do your shopping.
The apartment is centrally located, and you’ll find corner stores, supermarkets, fast-food restaurants, a medical center, restaurants, banks, and a shopping center (5 minutes by car).
The space:
This cozy apartment is open to guests, so feel free to make yourself at home! - There is a parking space available, but it’s only suitable for compact vehicles (see attached photo album). For larger vehicles, the space is too tight; while you can drive in, maneuvering out may be a bit tricky. There is plenty of free street parking, or, if you prefer to leave your vehicle in a parking lot, it will cost Q25.00 per night (6 p.m. to 9 a.m.) or Q50.00 for the entire day. (You can request a discount if you stay more than three days.) This parking lot is conveniently located near the apartment.
- The apartment has security cameras and an alarm system (which only records outdoor movement) for your safety, so relax and feel safe!
The apartment has four rooms: a private bedroom with a full-size bed, another with a sofa bed, a table, and a television with internet, Netflix, and cable; there is also a kitchen equipped with everything you need so you can cook and prepare your own meals if you wish (see attached photos).
-The apartment is equipped with a laundry area: a washer and dryer for your convenience, so you don’t have to leave home.
-We have hot water for the shower.
-There is a bus stop a few minutes’ walk away, or if you prefer to use private transportation, you can access it from this bus stop as well (taxis, tricycles, minibuses, and vans).
-Uber service is available in Chimaltenango.
-Smoking is prohibited inside the premises.
About 85% of Chimaltenango’s population is local indigenous Kakchiquel. Our weather is warm, mostly sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 54 to 68 F. It is located about a 45-minute drive from Guatemala City. Antigua Guatemala is a 25-minute drive from Chimaltenango. Lake Atitlán is a must-see destination; it is located 1 hour and 30 minutes north. This breathtaking lake is surrounded by three dormant volcanoes and steep cliffs.

Our stay was once again perfect! This time around we rented both units, and it worked for our family. The location is very central to Chimaltenango and not to far from Antigua. It was very clean and management was always fast when contacting them.

This is as good as it’s going to get in chimaltenango. Chimal is chaotic, crowded, noisy and ugly, but if you need to stay there, this place is great! There is a washer, dryer and laundry soap! The shower and kitchen are huge! Wifi works, decent space, pretty flowers, nice personal touches. Bed was hard. A critter crawled in the cieling : I could see it white little underbelly and long fleshy tail. We could hear the critters on the roof at night. Dogs barking and people setting off fireworks. But it was dec 30th so what can you expect. It’s still relatively quiet for Chimal. Parking on side of road instead of the empty garage. The host did not upload checkin instructions but we were lucky to catch her when she opened the building for cleaning. She gave us keys and let us leave our bags in the garage. Glass windows and plants make the place charming. The roof probably is bad. Drop cieling and stucco peeling in places ( some of the prettiest apartments in Spain have this problem too w thevwalls). The overall feeling is damp. It’s still great and I would rent it again. Be careful of dog poop outside

Our trip to Chimaltenango was great thanks to our beautiful accommodations. The setup of the home was great! It had a large kitchen, laundry room, big bathroom, and the bedroom was perfect. Our host was also very accommodating and was very attentive to our needs. The location was very safe and you can walk to several stores and bakeries that are just around the corner. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.
