About this cottage rental

Maestro Herrador Rural House, Rural Tourism in Ubrique
A rural house located very close to Ubrique, just a 10-minute walk from the town center. A fenced-in, completely private 2,100-square-meter lot with fruit trees.

Cultural Rural Tourism in Ubrique
The ruins of the Roman city known as Ocuri have been discovered nearby. Not far away, a fortress called Cardela was also built during the Muslim period; today it is known as the Castle of Fátima. It was conquered in 1485 by Rodrigo Ponce de León, Duke of Arcos, and in 1490 it became part of the House of Arcos. In 1501, the repopulation began, and the nucleus from which Ubrique would grow started to take shape.

By the 18th century, numerous leather factories had been established, continuing the Muslim tradition of leather goods production. During the First Republic, the town went through a turbulent period, at one point having two local governments, in a municipality where the Duke of Osuna’s estates predominated

Weekend Rural Tourism
There are many activities to enjoy in Ubrique over a weekend.

Visit the Leather Museum located in the Capuchin Convent of Ubrique; the Ethnological Museum located in the Church of San Juan de Letran; and the Roman city of Ocuri, where on the second Saturday of every month the Ubrique Romans Association stages a reenactment of life in Roman times. We can also visit the Church of Nuestra Señora de la O, the Church of San Antonio—where we can enjoy stunning views of the town—visit the Church of El Jesús, and take a tour along the scenic overlook route.

Rural Tourism for Families
The Maestro Herrador Rural House measures 100 square meters and features three bedrooms—one with a double bed and two with 90-centimeter beds—a bathroom, a large living room with a fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. The living room is air-conditioned.

Outside, you can enjoy two wonderful terraces—one at the front of the house and another at the back, overlooking the pool and the mountains.

A large pool measuring 10 meters long by 8 meters wide, with views of the mountains and a spacious sun deck.

The area surrounding the pool is dotted with numerous orange trees, making it a truly stunning spot.

The Herrador Rural House stands out for its tranquility and its proximity to the town of Ubrique.

This place was very relaxing and we enjoyed sitting in the backyard and by the pool looking at the mountains and watching the sunset. The listing is accurate, but I was surprised when we got there. There is no wifi. There is a tv but because there is no wifi you can’t watch much. There is an AC but it is only in the main room - however all the bedrooms have fans. You cannot drink the water and will need to buy bottled water. I wish we had known that before we arrived because we would have brought some with us. One set of sheets and towels were provided for each guest but there were no extra sheets or towels in the house. When we asked them to bring blankets they brought them over right away (but there were none in the house when we arrived and it was chilly the first night). The swimming pool is very nice but there were no extra towels. I am sure he would have brought some over if we had asked. But it’s nice to arrive and have these things without asking (we got in late after traveling all day and it was night time). FYI There is no bidet.
