We booked this primarily based on the pictures especially of the outdoor areas. However these appear to have now been neglected. You would not want to spend time in the summerhouse. The bbq would need cleaning before use. Some of the birdfeeders had mouldy deposits. The chairs , tables and benches appear to just been left out for the elements to take their toll. The welcome pack needs updating especilly in regards to the heating/hot water Yes we needed it in June. Only 1 of the logs provided would actually fit in the burner had we wanted to use it. No dishwasher tablets were provided and hand washing up wasn't really catered for. A bit more crockery , knives and saucepans was expected for a "well equipped kitchen" We had brought some bird food and nuts so saw a variety of wildlife in the grounds. Squirrels , Fox Cub , Deer and many birds.

Overall this cottage is lovely and on a beautiful location with lots to do and see outside. There are a few things that would have made our arrival more enjoyable. The cottage was nice and clean at surface level, however, when using the kitchen equipment, we found every glass, plate and pots and pans etc were dirty and needed to be cleaned by us before we could use them. The dining table in the kitchen was a clever, safe saving folding device with the chairs folded away inside. This was absolutely filthy and needed properly cleaning. I realise that these issues will be done to previous holiday makers not cleaning up after themselves but feel it should have been checked. The garden is amazing and watching the red squirrels and birds eating the nuts thoughtfully provided was a highlight. Plenty of seating areas outside, however, several were not in good condition. The house was very cold on arrival, the radiators soon warmed it up once switched on. Don’t rely on the information in the guest pack to help though as it’s very out of date and refers to a heating system which no longer exists! I’m always happy to strip beds at the end of a stay when asked, however, not so nice to see yellowing duvets with holes in. I would still recommend this cottage as it was well equipped, warm, cosy and comfortable. It’s in a great location with stunning scenery. I just feel that attention to detail and some thought to guest comfort on arrival are needed. It felt like the owners didn’t really care that much.

Lovely location, lovely cottage and fantastic to watch all the birds on the feeders we filled. Bonus is watching the red squirrels every morning in the garden. Beds very comfy. Only down things for us is that place was so cold when we got there. Maybe radiators could be put on the afternoon of arrival in colder months. Also we have a dog ourselves ( not with us this time) but had dogs loose in front and back garden from walkers along the forest path at the front of the cottage.

We arrived in Scotland clueless about the weather conditions, however the owners were incredibly helpful and kept us updated. We were unable to get to cottage the first night because of the landslides, but made it through the next day. The cottage was lovely and very comfortable and in a beautiful setting The red squirrels and birds in the garden were really lovely to sit and watch, very greedy though Despite the difficult start, we had a wonderful time, and great walks on the doorstep Thank you again

A great location, close to forest walks and the town of Dunoon. The cottage was very comfortable. My only observation is the kitchen utensils need updating. Only 2 saucepans with only 1 lid that doesn't fit either pan. Tin opener is broken, and lack of serving spoon Recommend that the cottage owner invests in updated the kitchen ware.

We had a lovely stay at Nursery Cottage. There were a couple of small issues when we arrived but the owners were very easy to get hold of and quick to resolve them. The location is a great spot from which to explore the woods on your doorstep, the botanical gardens and some day trips further afield (e.g. Inverary, local castles etc). We paddleboarded on the loch and enjoyed cosy evenings by the fire. The Wee Butcher down the road was a great place to get some local supplies.
