About this house rental
Where We Are
La Casería Verde is a vacation home registered in the Principality of Asturias under No. 2050, available for whole-home rental, facing south; it consists of the house, a hórreo, and private green spaces.
We’re surrounded by nature, in a village called Argañosu, in the España River Valley, right above the river’s source, in the municipality of Villaviciosa. AS.331 Highway, KM 14, 20 minutes from the Cantabrian Highway.
Very close to “La Peña de Los Cuatro Jueces,” where the municipalities of Villaviciosa, Gijón, Sariego, and Siero meet
The house is located in the center of Asturias, half an hour from Gijón and Oviedo, and 20 minutes from Pola de Siero and Nava., and 1 hour from the airport.
Covadonga and the Picos de Europa are approximately 1 hour and a half away.
España Beach is 25 minutes away.
Our house - Built of stone and wood in the 19th century, it has been renovated while preserving the original materials and features.
It has two areas:
- The upper level with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a 30-square-meter kitchen-dining room, featuring a large window with views.
- A relaxation area with a small porch downstairs.
- Sleeps 4 people, with 2 bedrooms—one double and one single—plus 2 extra beds.
- Free covered parking (in a traditional granary) next to the house.
- The owners are very strict about cleanliness, and especially in the current situation, they comply with all health recommendations.
Exterior
The house features
- Enclosed property with a relaxation area, table, and grill/barbecue.
- A fire pit built into the ground so you can enjoy a night of camping.
- A vegetable garden and a large green area with fruit trees (apple, pear, fig, etc.) and native trees such as oaks, beeches, birches, and chestnut trees…
- Animals: You can take a leisurely stroll, observing the animals (sheep, geese, chickens, rabbits) and learning about the trees.
There are plenty of quiet, charming spots to listen to the silence and the birds, take a nap, or read.
Some things you can do include:
From the house, you can go on short walking excursions. Visit charming nearby towns such as Villaviciosa, Tazones, or Lastres.
In the Villaviciosa municipality, you can go on interesting excursions, such as to the Argüero Mills, the Río Profundo Mills, Peña Cabrera… and the Valdedios Monastery.
- We’re very close to the Camino de Santiago and the Camino de Covadonga.
Other activities within a half-hour to one-hour drive:
- Visit museums, such as the Cider Museum in Nava and the Mining Museum in Langreo.
- Go to Colunga to visit the Jurassic Museum, hike up to the Mirador del Fito viewpoint, and take a dip at La Griega Beach.
- Go to the beach in Gijón, grab a bite to eat, take a stroll, visit museums, and go on a boat ride.
- Take a stroll through Oviedo and visit the Cathedral and the Museum of Fine Arts.
- Visit Cangas de Onís, Covadonga, and the lakes—Enol and Ercina.
- Multi-adventure activities.

El alojamiento nos gusto bastante. Los anfitriones se portaron muy bien desde el principio. Aparte, han hecho un gran esfuerzo por mantener una vida de aldea que les gusta y nos sorprende como visitantes. La aldea es preciosa, y sirve para desconectar aunque uno de nosotros teletrabajo sin rpoblemas durante algunos dias. Esperamos vovler algun dia.
