The little cottage was adorable and the quaint town with just a short walk to the river and beach was awesome. The location is nice because it’s close to Afton, Hudson and Hastings. The only issue was that the week happened to be extremely hot and swampy and there is no central air, just spot air conditioners and fans. The spare bedroom was way too hot to sleep in comfortably. The main bedroom with a unit in the window was fine. But if the weather is decent, you will be okay. Seeing “AC” on the description won’t necessarily mean central air and that is a lesson learned for me for future bookings depending on the season.

Booked this stay primarily for our elderly Labrador so he could swim everyday and sunbathe on the deck. He loved it and we enjoyed it too. A quiet and friendly neighborhood. Very responsive and helpful hosts

When we arrived there was a terrible eye watering smell throughout the whole cottage. We opened all windows and used large amounts of neutralizing spray. The next day was still bad and found that the garbage can had the same odor but worse with disgusting stuff on the sides of the can. Contacted the host about the smell and sent pictures of the can. She said her housekeeper could stop by after work but we had prior commitments and would not be available which we communicated to her. There was handfuls of garbage under the couch and under the trundle bed. The powdered creamer was hard and had bugs inside it. A couple days later there were flies covering the garbage can, the whole front of the garage and our car which lasted until the day we left. There were ample supplies in the kitchen, towels, and cleaning supplies, nice neighborhood and the location was convenient for us.
