About this house rental
This 500 sqft, 2bd/1ba cottage gives you the conveniences of home, while enjoying a vacation getaway! Designed with a serene blue ocean theme, it sets the tone for a beach vacation. Built in 1913 and recently renovated, the home still boasts much of its original charm. Located in Alamitos Beach, a multicultural, urban neighborhood of Long Beach. Only a 15 min walk to the beach and steps from shops, restaurants and bars. Hidden off the main street in a small alley behind the hustle and bustle.
The full kitchen is stocked with cookware, serveware and small appliances. Enjoy nearly year-round warm weather with a home cooked meal, or local takeout at the picnic table on your private patio. Whether in town for work or entertainment, you are sure to enjoy the lightning-fast Wi-Fi at 700 mbps. Smart 50 inch Amazon fire TVs in both bedrooms and the living room will allow you to access your favorite streaming accounts. The Jack and Jill style bathroom opens to the master bedroom and the kitchen, and features a small shower stall, marble tiled floor and an attached bidet.
Long Beach and southern California in general are most easily accessed by car. We do offer one off-street parking space, located directly in front of the front porch. Any additional vehicles may be parked on the street. Please note that street parking can be scarce at times so you may have to search awhile and park a bit away from the house. When parking on the street please check the street signs for time limitations, in order to avoid a parking ticket. If you prefer not to drive, there is still much to do within walking distance. Uber and Lyft are another great option for visiting attractions that are a bit further away.

The cottage is located in the emerging neighborhood of Alamitos Beach in Long Beach. It is an eclectic, urban, and artsy community with amazing restaurants, street art, and shops (including the famous Retro Row).

I loved everything about this property. It was exactly as described. Very clean, comfy beds, and every little detail was well thought out. The kitchen was stocked with necessities should we have needed them, which was a relief because we had traveled from out of state. The beds were also very comfy. I slept like a baby every night. We also enjoyed enclosed back porch! It was such a nice, cozy feature and it was perfect for relaxing with a couple of beers after our long drive in.
The location is also fantastic as you can walk to lots of food options, including just a 30-second jaunt to get to a super delicious ramen shop.
I should also add that the host was quick to respond to questions and checked in during our stay to make sure everything was going well. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place and I would love to book again next time I’m in the area.

The interior of the property was as expected except for the shower. It was VERY tight. The property was clean and very comfortable, particularly the beds. The location is why I'm conflicted. The access is through an ally and doesn't appear safe. If we didn't have two men with us, I would not have stayed. Nonetheless, it seems that ally access is "a thing" in Long Beach and we had no issues with safety and we stayed 7 days.

I went to a convention for the weekend with friends so we were out of the house most of the day. It’s clean and comfy but we personally felt it is small. We’re all over 5’6” so the bathroom sink mirror was dangerously in the way. The shower felt cramped but we loved that the water got hot fast. The beds were soft and we were able to sleep comfortably without the heater because the blankets were so insulating. We enjoyed the water and coffee that was provided. The hosts were very communicative we appreciated their hospitality! Thank you!
