Great neighborhood, beautiful views, and big house centrally located on the outer banks. House maintenance lacking. Towels and sheets felt like they were from a cheap motel service. Towels thin stained white unmatching, sheets and blankets were unmatched to bed sizes. Loose wiring and non- functional outlets, along with screen doors not functioning. Master bedroom sliding door didn't lock. Broken barstool chairs that should have been reupholstered decades ago. We made contact with Village Realty through their check in survey. House keeping responded quickly. We informed them we we're only providing feedback before the next renters arrived as to some items that needed attention, and we did not want to be disturbed. When we returned from a day out, we found someone in the property. The gentleman was very polite and apologetic. He informed me he had a work order, even though I specifically requested not to be disturbed. This is when I called to speak with someone from Village Realty. They appeared uneducated when it came to rentals and dealing with clients. I explained all the issues with the property and was told I needed to speak with someone else, this went on with two more people, none of who could understand there were issues that needed to be addressed for the safety of renters and protection of the home owner. There only response was if we hadn't come back to find the maintenance worker we would never had known someone had been in the property.
