Hillside Haven

we had a nice family time, the cottage beds were comfortable, BBQ worked well, a private setting with lots of space outdoors for kids and adults to play and enjoy nature.

There was no wifi. There was one air conditioning unit in the master bedroom. The living room ceiling fan we could not turn on. Not all the ceiling lights had bulbs. The washing machine could not be used because the septic field was almost full.

This is a nice and quaint cabin for families and friends. The open concept living area was good for preparing meals and hanging out; the woodburning fireplace was nice for the chilly nights. The master bedroom is nice with lots of natural light, the other 2 bedrooms a bit gloomy. The wrap around deck is fantastic as well as the yard space for playing lawn games! Check-in was easy and I was able to get in touch with the host quickly with questions. While the beach is in walking distance (about 20 minutes), it connects to a rocky part, so you would have to walk even further to get to the sand. With all of our gear, we chose to drive instead. The only cons were: the property was advertised to have wifi but did not, and the barbercue was in dire need of repair or replacement.

Our stay was very pleasant, quiet, accessible to other sites close by, spacious, clean and a good selection of needed supplies for everyday living. We got to pick some chokecherries for some winter jelly, a bonus! Thank you.
