Welcome to A Tree Top Mountain Home, a one of a kind mountain retreat nestled within the prestigious gated community of Tynecastle. Designed to evoke the charm of a Scottish village and set at an elevation of approximately 4,390 feet, this three level Craftsman style home is surrounded by some of the High Country's most iconic peaks, including Grandfather, Sugar, and Beech Mountains. Situated on 1.77 private acres, the home offers a peaceful and quiet setting with cool summer temperatures and beautiful year round mountain views.
Step inside to the welcoming main level where cathedral tongue and groove ceilings, hardwood floors, wainscoting, and a stunning stone gas fireplace create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The spacious living area flows seamlessly into the gourmet kitchen, which features custom cabinetry, granite countertops, high end KitchenAid appliances, a gourmet style 4 burner gas oven, a prep sink, and bar seating. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area comfortably seats up to ten, making it ideal for family gatherings and group meals. Easy main level access requires just one step into the home.
The primary suite on the main level is a true retreat, offering a king bed, tray ceilings, a flat screen TV, and captivating mountain views with access to two decks. The ensuite bathroom includes an updated double vanity, a large custom tiled walk-in shower, and heated floors
Upstairs, two spacious king bedrooms each feature ceiling fans and TVs and share a Jack and Jill bathroom with a tub and shower combination. A cozy loft area provides additional space to relax, read, or enjoy the mountain setting.
The lower level is designed for entertaining and extended stays, featuring a second living space with a gas stone fireplace, pool table, shuffleboard table, and a sofa. The fourth bedroom on this level offers a queen bed and easy access to a full bathroom with a tub and shower combination. Step outside to the full size lower deck, where the mountain backdrop creates the perfect setting for morning coffee or evening gatherings.
Outdoor living is a highlight of this home, with expansive decks offering ample seating and a fire pit area that is ideal for taking in the fresh mountain air and sweeping views.
Perfectly located for year round adventure, the home is just minutes from dining and shopping in Banner Elk, close to local favorites such as Stonewalls, Banner Elk Café, and Luna Sushi and Thai. You are also only 2 miles from Sugar Mountain, 9 miles from Beech Mountain, and within easy driving distance of Boone and Blowing Rock. ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- This home is accessed via paved roads that are easy to navigate however, AWD or 4WD vehicles are recommended during winter months.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers.
- The homeowners use an outdoor surveillance camera pointed at the driveway.
- This property is pet friendly, allowing one dog for an additional $25/night plus taxes in rent. Only dogs, please.
- This home is located in the beautiful gated community of Tynecastle which has many full-time residents. A quiet hour of 10PM is to be respected at all times.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- Check in time is 4PM and check out time is 10AM.
- The garage is not available for guest use.

This is a very comfortable house with bedrooms on all three levels, which makes it easy for groups to spread out. The fireplace in the kitchen is amazing, and so is the heated tile in the master bath! The view is phenomenal, the location is perfect, you feel like you’re on acreage, yet you are right beside Sugar Mtn ski resort and a three minute drive to the grocery store. My only suggestion is to bring extra towels, as the host only provides one per person, and if you’re using the hot tub and showering, it takes a lot of time to continuously wash and dry towels.

We enjoyed this property. It was comfortable and the location (near Sugar Mtn and Beech Mtn) was perfect. We enjoyed hiking Linville Falls as well.
Constructive advice would be to have more glassware (wine glasses and tall water/tea glasses).
Blue Ridge Rentals was great as usual—helpful and very quick to respond to any questions/issues we had. We would definitely recommend them and will continue to use them for our mountain house rentals.

The house is in a great location and was very clean. Upon arrival we had some issues getting in the house. We were provided with an incorrect code for the door and it took roughly an hour and multiple phone calls and texts to gain access.We stayed in the home for nine nights during the week of 4th of July and it was unseasonably warm in the mountains that week. The home owner had all three thermostats programmed remotely and the thermostat on the main level was locked so the temperature could not be lowered below 75. The upstairs of the home contained two bedrooms and that thermostat was programmed to not go below 80 degrees!The basement also had a bedroom and that thermostat was set on heat and could not even be set to the cool setting. It took numerous phone calls and daily texts to have the thermostat on the main level programming released. Five days for the upstairs unit and the basement although it stayed relatively cool was never unlocked and we had zero control of it. The home is in a gated community and on our second day the gate code was changed and we were not informed. We had a bit of an issue re-entering and had to make a couple phone calls for the new code."Overall the home is very nice but it's the only home we've ever stayed in that we could not control the thermostats and adjust the units to a comfortable level. It should not have taken several days and constant phone calls to resolve.
