This snug and cosy home was perfect for our Autumn getaway. The stairs were a bit steep for two seniors over 75, but we managed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the area. Because of illness, we had to postpone our visit to Pond House from June to October and because the leaves were so very beautiful this week, we were happy we had to change our plans. Also, how can you beat this view from the living room?

Photos do not do justice to this very spacious, comfortable home in a beautiful setting of mature woods, meadow, marsh and pond, with a backdrop of a tall hill with Fall color in mid-Sept. Bird life was fantastic, in variety and number. Great Blue Herons were our favorite. Many other waterfowl also visited the pond. White tailed deer, squirrels. #1 favorite was three playful otters. We could not have had a nicer stay in Vermont. Location was exceptional while in The Pond House, and when ready to explore.

The house was nice with a great space for the kids. The only pitfall was the cleanliness. Our Check-in was for 4pm, we got there at 5 and the cleaning lady was still there. She didn’t leave till 6. She missed quite a few things while rushing to finish. Also bring your some of your own towels as there were not enough for all the guests. If the owners read this… I would recommend a more thorough cleaning service. More than one person is probably needed.
