About this chalet rental

DESCRIPTION

Two and a half hours from the city, the noise stops. Blue Spruce Chalet is an authentic Eastern White Pine log home in the Catskills — 22-ft cathedral ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and a 450 sq ft covered deck with a hot tub. Out in the yard, a fire pit and eight Adirondack chairs wait for the stars. Featured in INSIDER. Seven minutes to Windham Mountain, five to town, and dog-friendly so the whole family comes along. The longer you stay, the bigger your automated discount (starts at 3 nights).

THE SPACE

This stunning Eastern White Pine log chalet sleeps 8 and is built for families and small groups — up to 6 adults and 2 children. Three bedrooms, 2 full baths, a large open living/dining great room, and a massive covered deck. Two levels of living space plus a finished basement give everyone room to spread out.

The heart of the house is a 400 sq ft living/dining great room under a 22-ft cathedral ceiling, anchored by a working wood-burning fireplace. Sliding doors open onto the 450 sq ft covered deck — outdoor seating and dining, a gas grill, and a hot tub you can soak in year-round. Out in the yard, a fire pit ringed by eight Adirondack chairs is the spot for s'mores and stargazing after a day on the mountain. Once the leaves drop in winter, you can pick out the Windham slopes through the distant trees. Central AC throughout for summer; cozy warmth for ski season.

MAIN LEVEL

Open foyer into the great room
Living and dining areas with comfortable seating for the whole group
Fully equipped kitchen — oven, microwave, coffee maker, full cookware
Queen bedroom — all-wood walls, the coziest true-cabin feel
Bunk room — a full-size bed plus a twin bunk, a favorite with families
Full bathroom

UPPER LEVEL

Master suite with a top-of-the-line king-size memory-foam bed and en-suite bath (shower and soaking tub)
Two mezzanines: a dedicated workspace with a monitor and laptop hookup on one side, a reading and lounge nook with a second TV on the other

LOWER LEVEL

Mud room (the old garage, no cars) — perfect for gearing up on ski days and for muddy paws and trail gear
Study with a second desk and monitor — a quiet second place to work
Laundry room with washer and dryer for guest use

WORK FROM THE MOUNTAINS

Two dedicated work zones — the mezzanine workspace and the basement study, each with a desk and monitor — make this an easy place to work remotely. High-speed cable internet (200 Mbps down) handles several people streaming and on video calls at once. Upload tops out around 10 Mbps, which is plenty for Zoom and everyday work; only large file uploads will feel slow.

BRINGING THE DOG

We're genuinely dog-friendly. The mud room is built for wet paws and gear, trails start five minutes away, and there's space to roam. Breed and size restrictions apply — message us with your pup's details and we'll confirm.

Follow the house @BlueSpruceChalet.

GUEST ACCESS

You have the entire home and property to yourselves. Park in the large driveway, or pull up to two cars under the deck to stay out of the weather. There are steps up to each floor, including the main entrance.

Winter access: the house sits on a private road, plowed when snow reaches about 3 inches. Some residual snow is normal during storms and 4-wheel drive is recommended. The plow service doesn't clear the entry steps, but a broom and shovel are right there and it's a quick job.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

This is a quiet family home, not a party house — it comfortably sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 children, and that's the limit we hold to.

Automated discount starts at 3 nights — the longer you stay, the more you save. We're also open to longer winter stays; reach out for extended-stay pricing.

A refundable $500 security deposit applies and is collected before check-in; it comes straight back when the house rules are honored and there's no damage. Full details are in the House Rules, which you'll confirm at booking. As the booking guest, you're responsible for making sure everyone in your group follows them.

Garbage is collected on Mondays — our service provider enters the garage/mud room to handle it, so don't be surprised to see him.

The home is professionally cleaned and sanitized between every stay. Additional mid-stay cleaning is available for a fee on longer bookings.

For your safety and ours, there are exterior security cameras monitoring the property 24/7. There are no cameras inside the guest areas. Please don't tamper with, disconnect, or obstruct them.

Plans change — even the best ones. We recommend travel insurance to protect your trip against weather, illness, or other surprises; you can read about it on Airbnb's travel-insurance page. Please review the cancellation policy before you book.

This is my Family's third stay at Blue Spruce Chalet. That says it all in my book! We really appreciate the beautiful house, terrific setting and wonderful town. We keep coming back for more. We spent about ten days at this property in August and thought it was fantastic. The interior is very tastefully furnished and the kitchen is extremely well stocked. But the highlight is the large deck, which was perfect for dining outside and general relaxation. The location is perfect too - far enough off a road into Windham to feel secluded (no road noise) but also a quick trip into town. Cedric was also a great host - very helpful with our questions and he always got back to us quickly. We’d love to come back in the fall or winter.

This is our second time staying at the Blue Spruce Chalet. The house and property are Gorgeous!!! All of the amenities are very well thought out and simple to access. My family and I are already planning a third trip to this property. That just shows you what a great time we had at Blue Spruce Chalet. Thanks from my whole family!

We had the most fabulous time at the Blue Spruce Chalet. We stayed for two weeks over the holidays and everything was excellent. The house is the dreamiest log cabin in the woods - secluded yet close to downtown and the mountain. Cedric and Nathan were fantastic hosts - extremely accommodating, communicative and helpful. The house had literally everything you may possibly need - from kitchenware to linens to firewood. Everything was spotlessly clean and meticulously arranged - I can’t think of a single thing that was missing. The outdoor space was very nice as well - the spacious deck, the fire pit and the hot tub - all added to the fun. We really enjoyed our stay and we will 100% be back. Thank you Cedric and Nathan!
