About this chalet rental
Tucked back on a 3 acre lot and located 50 minutes west of St. Louis, this rustic, modern 1000 sq. foot chalet has been completely renovated in August of 2021 with new hardwood, updated fixtures and all new furnishings throughout. Located across the street from lake St. Gallen, it is a short drive or walk to the beach where we have 2 kayaks and 1 paddleboard available for our guests. We also provide noodles, life jackets, beach chairs, beach towels and beach toys! If a bigger lake is what you are after, we are 5 minutes from lake Aspen where you can rent pontoon boats, fishing boats, kayaks, paddleboards and lily pads.
The chalet is perfect for a family or friends getaway (sleeping a maximum of 6 people) with a king-master bedroom suite on the main level and a loft with 4 twin beds. We offer a full kitchen with essentials provided (coffee, tea, dish & hand soap, and paper towels) two full size baths shower and shower/tub combo, a great room with an indoor wood-burning fireplace and an expansive deck with seating areas for entertaining or relaxing. There is also a larger outdoor firepit and a BBQ grill (charcoal not provided). We have carefully curated a vinyl collection and some instruments for your enjoyment while visiting and there are several board games that our family loves in the chaise storage bench as well as bocce ball and washers for outdoor play and a basket of kids toys in the loft.
This chalet is intended to be either an escape from your busy work week or a unique, inspiring space to work remotely, with WIFI if needed. Netflix streaming is available (feel free to log into your account or use ours). Please note that service in the woods can be inconsistent and may slow at times.
The areas directly around the chalet are treated monthly for mosquitoes, spiders, insects and rodents. While we can’t guarantee a bug-free stay in the middle of the woods, we do our part to minimize these unwanted critters. Please note, there are rodent boxes placed strategically throughout and around the property. If you have small children, please move these out of reach during your stay and replace before you leave.
We will send a welcome message with all the codes and directions to make sure you are well prepared for your vacation and will be available to ensure your questions are answered quickly before and during your visit. There is also a book on property with maps of the lakes, hiking trails, restaurant hours and phone numbers, to make your stay enjoyable.
Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. We do have early check-in options, but cannot guarantee early check-in until the day before your stay. In order to respect the neighbors, our property owners, and Innsbrook Resort's rental policies, we do not allow large events or gatherings at our chalets. NO SMOKING, NO PETS, NO LARGE PARTIES - MAXIMUM 6 GUESTS
PLEASE NOTE: This property has exterior video surveillance and we are strict at maximum capacity of 6 people. Please be sure to note the accurate number of guests in your rental request. We reserve the right to charge $50 per person per night for anyone in excess of the number of guests on the accepted reservation.

Property was much smaller than we though it would be. Watch your head in the loft. Check in was easy. Kitchen was fine. No ice tray, heads up. Overall not the cleanest but it was fine. No extra towels for bathing (three for each person). No laundry units. Something to consider would be bring extra towels. WiFi was fine. Close to beach/lake, five min drive down the road. Not a lot of firewood at all so we bought some. Good record selection.

Kimm and her husband were both great hosts. If I have to give any feedback for improvement it would be to include more towels for the summer stays. Between the pool and lake we had to make a laundromat trip. We refilled the sugar, trash bags, dish soap and coffee. A check on supplies before a stay may be helpful. But overall it was good. We really like the Innsbrook resort with a great balance of quiet and activity.

Entry into property was difficult to find at night. No clear signs of entry. No lighting once we pulled up. Even a motion light would have been helpful. My husband has Parkinson’s it was difficult to get into the property and once inside while it was nice the property seems outdated. Heat runs loud and ran all night as we got there and it was only 60 degrees inside. I’d suggest updating instructions for winter users and also provide hand towels, even a hair dryer in the bathroom as well as a punch code lock for guests instead of a key. Kitchen was vey well stocked.
