ABODEbucks had me sign more paperwork than I had to with my mortgage. That meant the booking confirmation took several weeks while they kept adding additional contingencies to sign. Some of the trim was coming off the doorframes with nails sticking out. While the kitchens are renovated nicely, there are some cabinets you cannot open/use without hitting the ceiling light fixtures. The host ended up letting us check in before 5 but wouldn’t confirm the possibility before the afternoon we arrived which was just tough with such a late check in.

The kitchen area was very clean and comfortable. A couple minor suggestions might be a few more kitchen towels, storage containers, plastic wrap, etc. Overall, the place was wonderful; plenty of space for all our family. The park right across the street was amazing. We had a truly memorable anniversary dinner at Favazza’s which was just minutes from the house. We can’t thank our host enough for the prompt and kind responses to any questions we had. Great experience in a great city.

The rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms all clean. 1. The floors were really dirty. 2. The bedroom (where you go out to the garage) one of the legs came off. when we put it back on it didn't match.3. Ottoman in living room. The one closet to the fireplace was wobbly so we check the legs. Several screws missing. So to be careful with your stuff, Glass coffee tables put in adult rooms and all breakable went high up. Ottoman moved out. I just didn't want ANYTHING to break! :-)You have a great house and location. We would recommend your place. Thank you for letting us stay,

If you need a big house to sleep a big group, this does the trick. Very spacious, great location across from Tower Grove Park. It works if your intent is simply a place to sleep.Not a cozy place, the furnishings are sparse and cheap. No dressers, no luggage racks, no area rugs, cheap bath towels, almost no decor. Two living rooms, neither big enough to seat half the people this place sleeps. Two kitchens, both with the bare min-enough to eat a takeout order. Listing describes this as a "family home", when in reality it is a duplex that melds together, a point not revealed to me until the check in process began. The rental transaction and 48 hours leading up to check-in were quite frustrating. When I requested to rent, VRBO stated that a response would be provided within 24 hours. The host then proceeded to ask questions regarding my intentions - why was I visiting, what were our plans, etc. It felt wierd, not something I've ever experienced with past VRBO hosts. Well past the 24 hour point, I finally told the host to "rent or get off the pot" so to speak , and got a rental agreement.48 hours out, I was asked to fill out a check-in form, and provide a copy of my photo ID - which I wasn't willing to do. I called VRBO for help, and was told all that was needed was my name and photo, so I provided a scrubbed version of my ID. Much strife could have been avoided if the host had been up front about what exactly was needed from my ID and why.
