The location was perfect, just off the N9, making it easy to find while still feeling wonderfully secluded. Surrounded by beautiful nature, there were plenty of hiking opportunities to enjoy. The peaceful, quiet setting made it the perfect place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature.

Safe environment in the beautiful Karoo. Owners as very hospitable and the rooms are huge!

Loved the setting, the old house, comfy beds with electric blankets. Coffee & Tea in the room. Friendly and personable hosts. Pet friendly and great location for an overnight on a long road from Gauteng to the coast.

The online price for 2 in the twin room was quoted R968 online. I first booked for just me (R572) but then my partner flew up to JHB to drive back down with me after I attended my mom's funeral (he was with his very sick mom before), so I needed to add him on for the same twin room (they asked R650 extra). We ended up paying a whopping R1222 for the night (twin beds only, no breakfast, sharing bathroom with other guests), which left a bad taste. They have a strict no-refund policy, so my only option was to add on my partner. I should have added him on via Booking.com instead of trying to save the host commission by paying the extra directly. I have never experienced such price discrepancy between 1 and 2 persons in the same room before. It felt like the business model was maximum income from one stay only, rather than building repeat business. The shared bathroom (i.e. with other guests) was not a deal breaker for us, but other guests using it during the night affected our sleep - so in hindsight perhaps better to have a room away from the shared bathroom.
